More? That depends. I'd say right now they can contribute roughly equally to the team (Youk's numbers might be a little bit higher, but for all intents and purposes they'll be pretty much equal). Knowing this team, I want whoever's not injured to play first.

Have to go with Youks, Snow is a late inning defensive replacement/platoon mate. But Youkillis HAS to get more ABs, at least 400+. Youk is a good player its time Fracona stopped wasting him on the bench.

Youk. More upside than Snow, obviously, and will only get better with time. He also deserves a starting spot on the roster after all he's gone through with the numerous trips from AAA and then back to the majors, and vice versa. Snow will be like last year's Olerud, but with less of a bat. Good late defensive guy.

Saying he was wasted on the bench, is saying he is better then millar right??

Yea I'd buy he's betetr than Millar, overall that is. Anyway, for now Youk, it's his job to lose. If he turns out hitting 10 HRs+ with solid defense and a near .400 OBP I'll be happy. If not we got a solid backup in Snow.

youkilis and it should not even be a question. snow is nothing more than a defensive replacement at this point in his career. he may get an occasional start here or there but what i want from him is a late inning defensive replacement.

Youk and give Snow a start every 10 or so games. Youks numbers have been very good in his short MLB career. Neither of them can hit for power and Youk is the better avg/obp guy.

from that article-

"Yeah, he [Youkilis] deserves [more playing time]," said Red Sox manager Terry Francona. "We're going to split it up with him and J.T., and some of it depends on how they're swinging the bat -- that's the way the game is. That's the way it's supposed to be. But he's going to definitely play a lot [because] he deserves it, and I think he'll be able to handle it."

Youk, but Snow can start every game you rest both Youk and Lowell. Snow should never start against a lefty, but snow can start 2/10 games while resting Youk and Lowell. Obviously Snow also needs to play late innings with a lead.

the Youk hes amazing great prospect almost took rookie of the year 2 years back. but than again J.T. Snow has the expireience being in the MLB for a while. I dunno im gonna go with Youk

Regardless who plays there, the corner infield is the weakest part of this team, and I, for one, am not ready to annoint a guy with a grand total of 250 ML AB's the savior, or even the answer.

amazing prospect? he is far from it. youk is an average player. if he hits .280 with 15-20 homers the red sox should be happy.

Youkilis deserves a shot and I'm not strictly going by his MLB numbers that look decent. I went back and saw what he was able to do in AAA. He probably traveled more than anyone on the team going up and down between MLB and AAA. Check these numbers out in AAA...

152 AB / 8 HRs / 27 RBI / .459 OBP / .592 SLG / .322 AVG.

.....in 74 starts for the Red Sox he had 5 errors.....playing 1st allows for less errors so I'm not nervous about him in the field. Add all that up with a mentor behind him in JT Snow who has 6 gold gloves....

Well, considering the sox don't usually get some guys that "Make it in the Big Leagues" such as Youk and Capalbon. I think he is amazing. But we all can have opinions

he an ok player. hes not even as talented marte. he is what he is. he can get on base but to me is a solid average ballplayer. he will never make an allstar. if he gives the sox more production than millar this year then he will be useful.

He's better than Millar no question. But yeah I think he is a hell of a good clutch player in this position. He's young and reminds me a good bit about Hank Blalock?
