Good question. The rules state :

The Rules :

*** You must be a member with at least 10 posts

*** The first 25 to post that they entered are in, are eligible, the next 24 are not eligible until the total reaches fifty ( at which point all entry is closed ). To make it clear, there will either be 25 or 50 contestants, nothing in between.

*** Entrants eligibility will be based on their post date.

*** Only one entrant per valid screen name.

*** Mods/Admin. are eligible for all cash prizes. The Gift certificate and privileges will revert back to non Mods/ Admin. starting at the 1st quarter and continue , quarter by quarter until a non Mod/Admin. has won.

As of yesterday we had 41 members were in. We lost five to the banning. Currently, we are at 37, subject to reinstatement's and new participants.

Attention all participants. For a number of reasons, the contest is now full. This means all 37 participants all included with a slight rules modification. As you all know, my sole intention in setting up contests, is to get any many members involved with as many prizes as I can. After, the minimum 25 requirement was full, I spent more time then I should PMing as many people as I could to get to 50 people, in an effort to involve as many members as possible. Many wouldn't respond, some got banned, etc. I guess posting "I'm in", can be too much of a commitment. It's kind of ironic that I can get 40 people to join and fork out $ 50 each for two pools than fifty people for free. But I digress, I will not eliminate the other 12 members still waiting. Therefore, I have changed the rules, all 37 all in ( banned members are not in ). Here is the break-out of squares :

-Close contest to 37 entrants

-The first 25 get 3 picks ( instead of 4 if there's only 25 )

last 12 get 2 picks ( otherwise they get none if it does not reach 50 ).

-The one extra pick will be labeled carryover/bonus. This would carryover to the next prize ( ie. if by some lucky chance it hits 99/1 in the first quarter, the prize would carryover to the half, if that square was still a winner the carryover prize would continue to the third quarter, etc. Basically, any prize won by the carryover bonus square would go to the next prize category. If its for the final, it would get divided by the prize winners. In an effort of brevity, I won't get into it now, but I have a plan. 37 members is the key, either that of 50.

First twenty-five : 25 x 3 = 75 squares

Twelve additions..12 x 2 = 24 squares

Carryover/Bonus....1 x 1 = _1 square

Total Squares filled..........100

i sound like an idiot saying this but can someone explain the grid? I completely forget since last year.
Basically you take the scores after each quarter and you look at the last number of each team's score and that is who will win the pot. For instance if Pittsburgh wins 35-20 at the end of the game then you win the pot because your name is under the 5 for Pittsburgh and the 0 for Seattle.

No your'e not. the grid works as follows :

In your case, you have 9-3 Pitt, 7-4 Seattle, and 5-0 Pitt.

The single digits are easy ( usually in the fist quarter or half ). For instance if at the end of the first quarter the score was pitt 9-3 you win. Once the score goes into double digits, its the second number that counts. For instance if 19 points are scored, it's the 9 that counts. If ther are 14 points scored it's the 4 that counts.

I'm not sure how this works, but I'm pretty sure 3-4 and 1-3 are not great numbers. Right?

Those are pretty good...13-14-21...all very possible..with 3-4..you'd probably want like 14-13 or 24-13..most realistically, 1-3'd be like 21-13maybe:dunno: but goodluck:thumbsup:

You got some great numbers :

4-3 Pitt , means you win at 4-3 Pitt (unlikely) 14-3 (real good chance), 24-3 (another great chance. The first digit does not count once the score(s) reach double digits.

8-7 Pitt, 8-7 (possible but unlikely), 18-7 or 18-17 (possible but unlikely), 28-7 or 28-17 ( getting better all the time ).

3-1 Pitts. An example seattle wins 21-3 you win. Compared to my numbers, you're a virtual lock.

Remember, as the game progresses the number combinations change, due to field goals, touch downs, safeties, 2 point conversions, missed extra points, etc. The biggest prize is at the end.

5-9, 1-1, and 9-4...hmmm. Never know. Weird stuff happens, like 76 points being scored in the superbowl (my pick in the other contest :D)

Yes wierd things can happen, I remember a certain NYJ fan that picked them to tie.

how can you score just one point?

It is the last digit of the number - for example 21 points would be 1.

I got 3-5, 6-1, 1-8 (Sea being first) Not too bad, could be 21-28, 23-35, 16(Pretty rare)-21. Anything is possible.

It's be an hour or so since I looked, but I think I was at 7-0 and 7-3

I have a chance. A pretty good one for the first quarter.
