Note: I didn't steal Bears-Pats from Simmons, I saw his column after I picked that Super Bowl. Also, there isn't a chance Carolina beats Chicago next week. Chicago has a tenacious D, and there's no way they don't defend their turf...by the way, Carolina is a warm-weather team and it's going to be 30 degrees in Chicago on game day.

Washington has an outstanding offense. Watch Brunell, Portis, Cooley and Moss when they're clicking and you wouldn't think that. The only reason this might be a non-offensive showdown is because of Chicago's defense.

I don't see the harm in adding a half point to the even spreads, I think we'd be better off with as many wins/losses as possible to determine a winner. Pretty anticlimactic to watch a playoff game and have it as a push.

John Fox always has something up his sleeve. The Bears haven't been to the playoffs in awhile. Steve Smith is arguable the best WR in the NFC, perhaps the NFL. It's not like it was warm in New York either. It's very possible that Chicago will lose with the minimal playoff experience and no offense. It is true that defense wins championships, but you can't be depleted of an offense either. Carolina plays well on both sides of the ball.

The Patriots will be the underdogs to the Denver Broncos as it stands right now. Thats how Brady likes it as, which gets a fire lit under him and his teammates.

 

Last meeting was the 28-20 loss which almost saw them come back and tie it.
