Yeah, that's for sure. Those Hilton Armstrong rebounds is what won this basketball game. Not sure Kentucky would've been in the game if not for the 3 pointers, though. Can't believe that, other than UConn, only La Salle went after him.

As for the out-of-bounds play that ended up being UConn's ball; it's tough to tell, because you can't really tell if the UConn player is touching the ball or if he just has his hand around, but looking at that replay, I'd give the ball to Kentucky on that one. Huge turning point in the game. From a chance to tie or take the lead to a chance to cut the lead to 4 or 3.

edit: Were those rebounds by Hilton Armstrong before or after Randolph Morris fouled out? I think once he fouled out, the tallest player on the floor for Kentucky was 6'7"

Yea, the biggest guy was Sheray Thomas at 6'7. It pissed me off, that Tubby wouldn't put in Allyene, atleast he had some height advantage, and could block shots a lot easier. Sparks was a god today shootin up those 3's and driving it in the lane, on the best shot blocking team. I didn't realize how big UConn really was till today. Damn their big

DUKE is the best team in the nation hands down. They will dominate LSU and win the national championship. There is no team that can stop them.

Don't overlook LSU as they have the ability to dominate Duke inside. UConn has the most talent in the country hands down. Duke relies too much on JJ and if he is not on well they are pretty much done since they really are not a deep team.

They key to stopping Duke is more about stopping Williams than it is Redick, in my opinion. LSU has the potential to do that. Not saying they will, but they definetely have the potential too.

As for who the best in the country -- when they play their best, UConn is. That seems to be the general concensus among those who cover the game. They're arguable the most talented and they're, with out a doubt, the deepest. The issue is focus, really. They're tall, athletic, talented -- but they don't always show up, ya know?

4 Naismith Finalists Announced...

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2378846

One question, how can Rudy Gay be considered one of the four best players in college basketball this season when he's not even the best player in the Big East Conference? The Big East's player of the year was Villanova's Randy Foye. (In a landslide, I might add). The voters couldn't even get it right when they took a Villanova guy, picking Allan Ray over Randy Foye. At least Allan Ray had a better season than Rudy Gay did.

This is what I hate about these national awards. The voters start thinking in terms of NBA potential (Rudy Gay) and ignoring who had the best season on the court (Randy Foye).

Agreed. For all the talent that he has, he hasn't yet learned to take over games. I don't watch Rudy Gay and get the feeling that I'm watching one of the top four players in the Nation.

So they never call traveling in bball anymore, but JJ's been called for it 3 times in the first half. I LOVE IT!

The best part about this game so far is that every time Sheldon touches the ball all 5 guys run up to him and flop off him, and theres yet to be a call for it.

I'll admit, this is my first look at LSU, and they have a truckload of athletes on that squad. Too bad they have absolutely no court discipline. Their coach can recruit, but he couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper sack.

LSU lacks discipline but they have basically taken Duke out of their game without their two best players on the bench for a good part of the first half.

They're playing very good defense, but there should have been atleast a few flop calls ... LSU's big men have been on the floor since the tip. If Sheldon catches the ball within 20 feet of an LSU player they fall down.

When was the last time you saw a call for flopping?

It's supposed to be a technical foul and it's never ever called -- no reason to start now. If you flop and it goes uncalled, you're already at a disadvantage as it leaves you out of position.

And I'd agree, One Red Seat -- LSU has some athletes, but they've played a very sloppy style of basketball. Still young though as two of their best players are underclassmen.

Whens the last time you saw atleast 1 player go down every time Sheldon touches the ball?

I agree. I don't care if a player flops as long as the ref swallows his wistle.

Even if they're flopping on every single trip down the floor?

Yeah, as SR said, they are out of position if they flop and the ref doesn't fall for it. I only have a problem with flopping if the ref actually buys it.

That 1st half was one of the sloppiest halves of basketball I've seen in a while. I didn't get a chance to look at the turnovers but there were a lot of bad passes, bad shots and bad ball movement especially for Duke, a lot of that has to be credited to the LSU defense which has been superb thus far.

Might this be ones of those games we look back at and say...

"If LSU only made their free throws..."

Maybe its just me, but it certainly seems like they're missing all sorts of free throws.

You're right See Red. 5 of 13 from the line especially when you're going up against Duke just cannot happen. That was an outstanding play by Sean Dockery there especially the behind the back pass to Shelden.

For all the people on ESPN that took the time to talk about how the refs favor Duke ... make sure you talk about who they favored in this game.

Duke's weakness inside killed them tonight. I thought it was telling when Bilas?/Enberg? said LSU's best offensive strategy was to miss and get the follow up. And he was right.

EDIT: As far as LSU goes, this is the worst coached team I've seen make it this far. I doubt they get out of this brackett.

That Duke is shooting twenty-some percent can't be ignored.

Ugh, it's over.
