12. He refuses to be in a slam dunk contest' date=' despite how much the fans (including myself) would like to see him in it. He even guaranteed he would do it a few years ago. Again, he's a pussy.[/quote']

So just because the fans want to see him do something, he's a pussy for not doing it? Seriously, do you have mental problems?

BECAUSE I ALREADY RESPONDED TO THOSE SAME EXACT ARGUMENTS ALREADY, AND YOU COMPLETELY IGNORED THEM, YOU JIBBERING f***TARD.

Yeah, and you responded with garbage then just like you are now. You're fighting an uphill battle dude. You should stick to fighting people who aren't as smart as you, because you'll keep getting destroyed if you try taking on Keeper or myself.

Garbage? Why's it garbage? Go back and respond and explain why it's garbage. We both know you have plenty of time on your hands to do so, and you'll need it.

I think 'actual valid points that blow your idiocy out of the water' is much more accurate term, personally.

At the risk of sounding unoriginal... I'm already doing a damn fine job of it.

Neither of you two jackasses have been able to respond to me with anything resembling a valid argument (that's when you even respond at all), so your confidence is a little misplaced.

J_E, he didn't have to give Cleveland advanced notice, but it could certainly be argued that was the courteous thing to do. That was his home for all those years, and they desperately wanted him back. I have absolutely no issue with him leaving, but he could have let Cleveland down with a more personal touch. Take Cliff Lee for example, who personally called Nolan Ryan before signing with the Phillies. This isn't black and white, but informing your previous employer of your departure is typically what people do.

As for contraction, again, not black and white, but I don't think he should be openly advocating for the unemployment of his co-workers.

I've explained my points very clearly. While a lot of people disagree with me (including Dipre, RSFFL, and perhaps many others) you're the only one going ape s*** with it, as if you're related to LeBron and are fighting for his honour.

Y228 probably disagrees with me a bit, and he understands my point. Seeing as he is the most neutral person to exist on talksox (perhaps outside of MSU), I think it's clear that I've presented my case, I no longer have the burden of proof.

And your perception that you're screaming and yelling and repeating yourself and talking with all bolded caps somehow = you're winning, is the reason why you're in the basement. Just like your redraft teams.

You should take note of Y228. He can play devil's advocate and counter one's points well in a fair tone and respectful manner, whereas you just stand there shouting and repeating yourself with an undeserved sense of accomplishment. You're like Suns, seriously, you stand there with your hands covering your ears saying "No it isn't" to everyone's arguments and then "I'm beating you, I'm winning" rather than actually making arguments in and of themselves. Big difference, you'll never win a damn thing with that attitude. Not an argument, not at life, not even at a mediocre community college. You aren't worthy of my time, and my time is pretty much worthless. (One of the only things you've gotten close to being correct about in the past few days)

Yes it would have been courteous, but what kind of role does courtesy really play nowadays in any big-time industry, not just the NBA? With that reasoning, you could take it a step further and argue that the 'courteous' move would have been to just stay in Cleveland, since we've heard so much about that city's sports failures, their passionate long-suffering fans, this being the only decent time in Cavs history, the potential ecomonic avalanche if he left town, yadayadayada.

Plus there have been rumblings that LeBron didn't particularly care for Gilbert while he was still a Cav, for whatever reason, so that probably factors in, leading to my point about LeBron being concerned that Gilbert, in his inevitable rage, would have leaked LeBron's decision anyway, ruining his show (if we already know who he's picking, who would tune in to watch Jim Gray ask him stupid questions and Jon Barry and Mark Jackson squabble in the studio). Some may call that a petty concern of his, but what are you gonna do.

Cliff Lee's not the rule, he's the exception.

As for contraction, again, not black and white, but I don't think he should be openly advocating for the unemployment of his co-workers.

But you don't argue that contraction would help the league, right? I don't think it matters who the message comes from, since you'd be hard-pressed to argue that contraction would be a bad thing. Yes, LeBron has played with and is probably currently playing with guys who would be negatively affected by it, but that's just tough. Who knows, he might have just said it because he knows it would leave 2/3 of his 'supporting cast' back in Cleveland without jobs.

Y228's just more understanding than me, and for whatever reason can identify easier with something as hilarious petty/stupid as hating a person whom you've never met, just because you feel he's full of himself.

The fact that you're citing other people's takes on your posts now is pretty funny.

I'm winning anyway, by a mile. At worst I'm winning by forfeit, since neither of you two ever counter with anything, just voice the same old moronic s*** over and over and over, like you never even saw what I wrote.

You bringing up the draft just proves further that you're scrambling and flopping about for literally anything you can get on me, since it's pretty obvious that I smoked you and Keeper here (unfortunately it's probably past tense now, I'd love to keep making fools out of you two).

The principle (being courteous), can not really be used to justify him staying Cleveland. That's a huge life decision, and no one would argue that he should be swayed one way simply because many feel it's the right thing to do.

Couple points on how it might effect his show.

1. As of late Wednesday night, everyone pretty much knew he was going to Miami anyway. There was little suspense left.

2. He only let Miami know just before the beginning of his show, and he could have done the same for Cleveland, which would have eliminated the possibility of them spoiling his show (more than it already was).

From what I understand about negotiations of this type, what Cliff Lee did is common courteous, but I can't say that with any certainty. Regardless, if you acknowledge that it would be the courteous thing to do, but you find that courteous to be unnecessary, then we've reached an impasse and it would be useless to take this part of the discussion any further. We'll have to agree to disagree, rather than rehash the same points over and over again.

On contraction, again, this just comes down to courtesy. It's not the most important thing in the world, by any means, but I don't think an NBA player should be openly pushing for other NBA players to lose their jobs. I agree with the general premise of his point, but I just don't think he's the appropriate messenger.

And I'm pointing out just how butthurt you are.

What did I do poorly? Shaq and Arenas blow LeBron away in terms of aggressive, irrelevant, non-sensical trash talk. This is a fact. The arena dominance speech by you was just a pathetic attempt to reconcile everything here.

There it is again. What's more annoying than some guy making 'Hibachi' one of his nicknames and yelling it after every shot, or another guy constantly referring to another team as the Sacramento Queens?

You really, really suck at this.

Because you're both clowns who get off on whining about him every chance you get.

Suns could never make you look this stupid. Nice try.

This post (there's also a large quote war in there that makes this post a lot bigger, so click the backtrack link) was my counter to every uber-retarded point ital had made to that point and since (because he's just been repeating himself). The only thing he responded with was some drivel about him choosing his fights wisely, countering absolutely none of the relevant info in my post.

Your move, Forrest.

I haven't had to counter anything you said because you were the one to start attacking me. I said that I hated LeBron, and you were the one to dig it up and start fighting. I responded because I know that you're an easy win around here. You're no Dipre, ORS, A700 when it comes to sports knowledge.

And let me make one thing clear. Just because someone doesn't respond to something you say, doesn't mean that someone is "forfeiting" which is by the way, the only way you'd ever win anything.

Besides, I ALREADY had made an outline of my points (post 2778), and all you did was use bad analogies (Shaq and Arenas for example), repeat yourself saying stupid things like "You're a petty idiot" (post 2850) or "do you listen to yourself" (post 2787) or that "you're just jealous" (also post 2787) or even the Jacoby Ellsbury patented "what does that have to do with anything" copout to hide the fact that you have nothing to argue (post 2777)

I will give you credit for being able to do one thing, you are a very good troll. You successfully sabotaged a lot of my time and baited me into getting REALLY angry at someone who isn't worth my time. You've successfully dragged me down to your level of stupidity, and based on arguments you've had with Suns and others (RSFFL too), I know that you're a master of your trolling craft. You're good at trolling, but virtually nothing else.

I can't believe I wasted that much time arguing with someone clearly below me. Why do I even keep responding to this troll?

Yes, it's bigger scale, but couldn't you argue that him just throwing Cleveland to the wolves like that (blowing up a good chunk of their economy, letting tons of good people down, etc) could be considered classless on some levels? It's a reach, yeah, but I'm just saying that all the clowns could come up with any part of LeBron's process and call it classless.

Courtesy, in huge enterprise like the NBA, is merely extra credit. That's the standard that's been set.

1. As of late Wednesday night, everyone pretty much knew he was going to Miami anyway. There was little suspense left.

There was the word out there, but given how rumor-crazed that whole period of time was, I don't think many people took it seriously. I remember Thursday morning/day all the usual pundits were still speculating, only giving a slight nod to the Miami rumor.

2. He only let Miami know just before the beginning of his show, and he could have done the same for Cleveland, which would have eliminated the possibility of them spoiling his show (more than it already was).

I'd have to check, but I'm pretty sure Cleveland knew right before the show started as well. They didn't find out with the rest of us.

Probably.

Who is?

Posted

I agree, people will always look for something to be upset about that. That's just what a lot of us do. But based on my standard of courtesy (and because this is an opinion thing, that's what matters), the proper thing to do was let Cleveland know ahead of time. That doesn't make me right, and it doesn't make you or Lebron wrong. It's not a big deal, but it's simply what I think is the right thing to do.

I can't speak for everyone, but the reports at the time seemed pretty definite and I remember giving up hope of him coming to the Knicks.

Jim Gray asked Lebron if the teams knew of his decision, and all he said was that he had just informed the team he was going to of his decision. The way he worded it made it seem like he had only spoken to the Heat, but I could be wrong about this.

I don't think Lebron is an appropriate messenger, in this instance.

Haha, if you actually, seriously, think that any of what you posted was "countering" anything, then you really are as dumb as I've said that you are, and your should give yourself a mercy killing and go away. You really have nothing here and you should give up before it gets worse for you. You haven't countered anything, and you haven't made any points. You just act like everything I say is retarded and act like you're smart and that you've won. You will never beat me in anything. Well, other than being a troll.

This really isn't getting anywhere. If you aren't going to say anything other than the fact that you're "winning" or that "I can't argue", then we should just end it all. If you haven't learned how to argue at this point, and since you clearly didn't successfully refute anything I said pages ago, then you aren't going to be able to beat me a few pages from now, and this argument is pointless. All it is is you trying to piss me off by saying the same stupid things you always say, and me responding by getting unspeakably angry.

If we don't stop it now, it'll probably continue like this for a while. You're a known troll, and I don't know when to stop. This is how I got banned fighting a700 over a year ago. So for both of our sakes, we should either put each other on ignore or otherwise end it, because it's not going to end well for either of us.

Stop this, J_E and Ital.

In essence, you're arguing a matter of semantics. Ital doesn't "hate" Lebron but is annoyed by his attention-whoring, which is understandable, but J_E is defending Lebron in spite of his attention-whoring, so it's basically a "you like him, i don't" argument. Neither of you is going to change the other's mind, and Ital doesn't hate Lebron enough to warrant both of you making this personal.

Now, girls, you're both pretty, shut up, and go make me a sandwich.

I'm pretty sure that you took that line from me. Anyway, you're right and I did begin to address that in my last post. We clearly aren't going to change one another's minds, so there's no point in continuing this. We both have our defined opinions of LeBron (and each other at this point) and no amount of name calling, faulty arguments, trolling, or arrogance is going to change anything. I've wasted enough of my time responding at this point, and I think we'd both be better off if we move on and think about some other topic. I don't really know how I got dragged into this anyway.

I'm an easy win, yet you refuse to defend all the bitchy, asinine 'points' you defecate onto the board, and just hide behind the guise of 'you're not worth my time'.

Just admit that you're a clueless ape who has a bizarre personality complex that causes you strongly resent people who you don't even know, just because you think they like themselves too much.

And let me make one thing clear. Just because someone doesn't respond to something you say, doesn't mean that someone is "forfeiting" which is by the way, the only way you'd ever win anything.

If you're so confident in your abilities and my lack of, well, whatever it is you say that I lack, why not counter what I said and prove just how smart you supposedly are and how dumb/unruly I supposedly am?

You have nothing.

Besides, I ALREADY had made an outline of my points (post 2778), and all you did was use bad analogies (Shaq and Arenas for example)

That 'outline' contained no argument, it was just a recap of idiotic points that you made, that I countered, that you didn't counter.

You cited arena dominance that your justification for that for hating LeBron but having nothing against Arenas or Shaq (if player arrogance really irks you that much [lol], I don't know how you could justify being more bothered by LeBron than Arenas and Shaq). Arena f***ing dominance. I don't know how much more irreleveant you can get (and you're also dead wrong in Shaq's case). You just keep digging bigger and bigger holes for yourself.

repeat yourself saying stupid things like "You're a petty idiot" (post 2850)

I don't like to type the same argument twice if I don't have to. You didn't give a relevant response the first time around, yet regurgitated the exact same s*** I called you out on.

or "do you listen to yourself" (post 2787)

In response to you actually admitting that you hold a rapist in higher regard than LeBron, who is guilty (to you) of being an attention whore and thinking too highly of himself. I actually did not know what exactly to say to something like that (you approving more of a rapist - your words - than someone you just think loves himself and loves attention too much). So I just went with 'do you listen to yourself'.

or that "you're just jealous" (also post 2787)

Jealousy was the only possible reason I could see for what you were saying, and you admitted to being jealous anyway in response. So what's the problem?

or even the Jacoby Ellsbury patented "what does that have to do with anything" copout to hide the fact that you have nothing to argue (post 2777)

Well, you never did explain what that had slop had to do with anything. Not like you could possibly justify the garbage you had written there, but you'd at least be a little more credible if you admitted you were dead wrong.

There. Called all your bluffs, and managed to embarrass you further. Keep it coming.

That's nice. Trolling is what I hope you've been doing this whole post, because there's no way a functional person could be that ignorant/oblivious.

I can't believe I wasted that much time arguing with someone clearly below me. Why do I even keep responding to this troll?

You blew this much time trying to sell yourself as the good guy, the white knight, and all that good stuff, and STILL made no effort anywhere to counter the points I kindly re-quoted for you (and you effectively re-quoted as well) and exposed you for completely ignoring. Awesome. You could at least make this somewhat difficult for me. You claim I'm an easy win? Show it. Do what you think LeBron should do more of, stick by his words.

I'll be waiting.

Yes, I countered. You made really stupid 'points' (I'll grandfather them in as points, arguments, whatever you want to call it), I countered with reasons why what you were saying was completely and totally idiotic, you just didn't respond. You bitched out, plain simple.

Jesus motherf***ing Christ, JE. I laid out my reasons for why I dislike LeBron. Your "counterarguments" were light on the logic and heavy on the ad hominem. You are welcome to disagree with me and Ital, but there is really no call for this:

You're a petty idiot.

You're a petty idiot.

You're a petty idiot.

Don't worry, it's not. Keeper and ital are just anal and hate seeing people lead better lives than them.

You're a clown.

You know, you really shouldn't be walking around without a helmet.

Really, you're just a fluff-obsessed, ultra anal, very typical Joe Fan who has absolutely no idea what he's talking about (like all Joe Fans), and carries eternal grudges against basketball players whom he doesn't even know, because they either snubbed his team or he just thinks they're too happy and rich and full of themselves, since they don't have to man Burger King's drive-thru window all day, like you.

Is this a joke?

You're f***ing stupid.

Wow. You are dumber than a bag of hammers.

And you actually kept going on the next two pages. You are not the basketball guru you think you are, and you are pathetic in a debate. You are a small, bitter, infantile person. I have never thought highly of you, and this recent display only confirms what my instincts told me. I gave you an olive branch with my advice about Daric Barton (who, by the way, was a bad pick), but of course you ignored it. I echo what Ital said. Good luck in your future endeavors... you'll need all the luck you can get.

No one likes getting dunked on. Especially by a high schooler. He overreated a bit but it's understandable to be pissed.

Howard has already been in what, three contests? Completely different. And you'll recall that LeBron said he was going to do it and then backed out.

True, no one likes to be dunked on, but trying to cover it up only made LeBron look insecure about his image.

I apologize. It was early in the morning and didn't really read it correctly. However, if you think he's a pussy then that's you. It's an opinion so I can't say much. I'm sure you're right but can you post me a link where LeBron said that? I never really knew about it but if you don't want to then you don't have to. This is a understandable reason for you to call him a pussy I guess but you calling him a pussy not playing in a game due to injury I still think is pretty absurd. Again, it's all a matter of opinion so there's no right or wrong.
