For all the bad press AI gets, the guy is fearless and has no quit in him. He plays hard from whistle to whistle, and he sacrafices his 6 foot nothing, hundred and change body the whole time.

The C's look really impressive. I can't wait to see them go up against the elite from the West.

Denver is a supposed "elite" from the West. Many people thought they'd be an upper tier team.

I'd be interested in seeing us up against Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, and Detroit.

The way this team is playing right now, I'd definitely say 60 wins isn't out of question.

I think Saturday against NJ looks like an interesting match-up too. The Net's aren't elite, but they look good early.

Oh definitely, I was of the opinion that the Nets were real underrated coming into this year.

They have their big 3 in Carter, Kidd, and Jefferson, they got Krstic back, Antoine Wright is really playing well this year, and was towards the end of last year, and Bostjan Nachbar is a real good perimeter shooter.

The kid I think that should be getting more minutes is Sean Williams, especially over Magloire, Boone, and Collins.

They're a real good team though, everyone pretty much wrote them off after we got KG and Allen, but they're definitely one of the top 5 teams in the East, with Boston, Detroit, Chicago (if they can get their s*** together), and Orlando.

But Denver hasn't played like an elite team from the West so far... The only time they've looked good was the second half against Seattle.

I know, they really haven't been playing the part now, but many people were picking them to go real far this year, thats why I dubbed them a "supposed elite team".

They have too many different styles of players, IMO. Melo and AI don't really blend together well enough, and spare me Camby, they have no defense.

I think AI and Melo make it work together but outside of them, it just seems like a mish-mash of some pretty talented players and George Karl is a bad coach, imo. I haven't see the dedication to run under George Karl yet. They run, but then they lose focus for a bit and let the other team back in. They really shouldn't get destroyed like they did against the Celtics, so that was a very impressive win for the C's.

I feel your pain. Suns looked like s*** against Atlanta, and the Lakers. We did clobber Charlotte, and beat Seattle and Cleveland but aren't quite right. We should be 5-0 with or without Amare. Amare's out right now, which is good that he's taking time off now instead of being hurt when it counts. We just look out of sorts. But it seems to be truning around. Tonight, if it goes right, should be another step back onto the track of Phoenix Suns basketball.

Looks like the Net's made a game of it for about 18 minutes, but the C's pulled away before the half. I've been following on Gamecast (no coverage here).

Denver was getting handled in the first half against Indy. I think they gave up 70, but pulled it out. Impressive win.

Hopefully that's the spark that gets 'em going this year. Down 25 at the half and coming back to win is real impressive... until you remember they were down by 25 to the Pacers at the half. Still a great win to get.

Orlando is looking solid this year. Lewis was a great addition. They needed to add what they were supposed to be getting from Hill, and while Lewis isn't the total player on both sides of the ball the Grant was, he's got the same dynamic on offense. Dwight Howard continues to progress. He's a freak on the low block.

I was really looking forward to being able to follow the Magic when I moved down here but for the time being I don't have television at my apartment, so I've been unable to thus far. The problem with adding Rashard Lewis for the max contract was that between that and resigning Dwight Howard, it kind of ties them up cap wise for a long time.

Posted
True, it does tie them up financially, but I think it does it in the right areas. I think a good template for success is a dominant inside presence, Howard, and a dynamic scorer, Lewis, and good role players to fill out the roster, which is what they have right now. In fact, I think Lewis is a better fit than a healthy Grant Hill. Hill is a more complete ball player, but not a pure scorer, and that's what they were missing. They are replete with guys that can do a little bit of everything, and were missing a guy who could fill it up. The only potential for problems is that they seem a bit dependent on performance outside the arc. None of the three-jack happy teams, Chicago-Dallas-Phoenix-Washington, have much to show for their dependence on the long ball (regular season performance for all, but no titles).

Celts look OK' date=' not great. Lead by 11 after 3.[/quote']

They didn't look very good at all last night. Their shots weren't falling, and spare a great 3rd quarter from Allen, and this game could have been bad news.

But House hurt himself, sprained ankle, haven't heard an update today but I'm assuming he won't play tonight. He limped off under his own power but looked in a shitload of pain.

Hopefully he'll be ok for Friday, we need him, he's been more than great off the bench. A ton of energy, and he's been hitting his shots.

Yeah, the offense struggled, but Pierce had an awesome game and the defense continues to be tremendous.

Even when we aren't hitting shots I'm still confident we can win games, as opposed to years past (after Jim O'Brien left until now). Pierce started out real sluggish, but really picked it up, along with Allen. Pierce is so underrated in the league today, everyone saw what he did with Antoine Walker and a cast of veterans, scrubs, and young talent around him, but now that he has some legit players around him, we're really seeing what kind of player he is. This year he's going to be more efficient than ever, IMO.

stephon marburys such a class act....

Stephon Marbury was quoted this morning in the New York Daily News as saying, "Isiah has to start me. I've got so much (stuff) on Isiah and he knows it. He thinks he can (get) me. But I'll (get) him first. You have no idea what I know."

haha guys a joke, bribing his head coach to play him

looks like kobe had his chance to get out of LA

Rotoworld sources are relaying that Detroit radio station 1270 AM reported Wednesday that the Lakers and Pistons had a "done deal" as of 6:45 PM on Tuesday that would have sent Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, Amir Johnson and a first-round pick to the Lakers for Kobe Bryant.

Both teams had reportedly agreed to the deal, but Bryant alledgedly vetoed it with his no-trade clause, apparently not wanting to go to a depleted Detroit team

Same reason he would've vetoed a trade to Chicago. Same reason he'll veto a trade ANYWHERE. If a team is going to give LA enough to make trading Kobe even sort of worth it, it's going to cost them too much for that team to be a contender immediately. I think Kobe's going to be a Laker until he possibly opts out in 2009.

edit: Wait a minute... what the f*** are you thinking, Kobe? This would've made the Pistons probably the best team in the East, in my opinion. If not the best, pretty damn close.

Posted
I would have been very surprised to see Kobe traded to Detroit. I wouldn't think Detroit would do this move...but if they did and Kobe vetoed it, he should realize that it's his current FO that's depletiing the possible places he'll go. They want a kings ransom.

Kobe blows. Best pure scorer I've ever seen, even better than prime MJ. Kobe can do everything he did, and he's a better shot. He blows as a teammate though. He had it all, the best center in the game, and a bench full of stars willing to take pay cuts for a ring run. He drove it all away, so f*** 'em.

Dwight Howard is starting to do two things. One, fill out that frame. He's freaking huge. Two, get some game down low. He's on the cusp of being the best low block player in the NBA (aside from freak hybrids like KG). The work with Ewing is really paying off.

I said, either last year or the year before, that eventually he'd be the best Center/PF in the game for the next ten years. I still stand by that. The kid's a freak.

Stan Van just sent this game to overtime. Magic were up 3 with 3.1 to play, he has Turkoglu foul Lebron right as he caught the ball, but Lebron was able to initiate a shot attempt before the contact, and he nailed all 3. OT.
