Up 10 at the half.

15 for 'Melo. If Melo doesn't make it to Vegas next year for the ASG he will be way more pissed...

5 assists, too. That's the suprising stat. Better get his ass on the boards and get a triple-double!

Ugh... Cancel that, no rebounds yet.

As someone who's watched his fair share of Nuggets games, I'm cautiously optimistic.

Rumor has it that the entire Knicks team might be traded.

http://realgm.com/src_feature/458/20060210/latest_rumor_from_new_york_entire_knicks_roster_dealt_to_detroit/

No one has been working the phones like Isiah Thomas, who has been frantically trying to remake the Knicks roster before the February 23 trade deadline. The latest rumor is the most outrageous yet: the beleaguered Knicks GM is trying to deal the entire Knicks squad, plus TV color analyst Walt “Clyde” Frazier, and Anucha Brown Sanders, the former Knicks employee accusing Thomas of sexual harassment, to Detroit for the Pistons starting lineup of Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace, Richard Hamilton, Chauncey Billups, and Tayshaun Prince.

The deal would be part of an extraordinary eight-team trade that would involve 24 players, 16 future draft picks, 4 coaches, 3 General Managers, and 2 assistant trainers. As compensation for Detroit, both Thomas and former Knicks guard Allan Houston would come out of retirement to shore up the Pistons backcourt. “I can still play,” Thomas assured skeptics. “Bring it on.”

Since the Mavs have been brought up recently...I decided to see how theyve won 13 straight...and looked at their schedule...

And heres what I found:

New Jersey 26-21

Milwaukee 25-23

Houston 19-30

Clippers 29-18 IMO best team they've played during this stretch

Portland 17-30

Golden State 22-26

Seattle 19-30

Utah 24-25

Chicago 21-28

Memphis 26-22

Seattle (again) 19-30

Lakers 25-24

Miami 30-20

Totals: 302-327 .480% Winning percentage

These are teams they SHOULD beat, with maybe an exception to the Clippers (Miami is overrated). Now I agree they are a good team, but not front runners for the championship.

Utah has swept the Pistons right? So they can't be to horrible right?

And Atlanta beat your Spurs twice (at least once, but twice I'm not positive about), whats your point, both teams are bad.

Wow, the Celtics won, despite probably the worst officiated game I have seen in my life. They were treating Howard like he is God or something. Pierce is getting hacked left and right and they dont even call s***. NBA officiating these days is pretty pathetic.

the celts need to lose because they really are not going to go anywhere this year and i want to maybe win the lottery somehow and get adam morrison even though this is a weak draft.

Heh, really? They need to lose? How will that help this teams future other than draft position? Humor me with your wide array of basketball knowledge.

id rather not have this team anywhere near the playoff race as that would kill there draft position. the celts need to get a top 5 pick instead of getting whipped in the first round by the pistons.

So you are basically saying you want to give a young and impressionable team the idea that its ok to lose?

There is 1 elite player in this draft, Morrison, and Charlotte is getting him. The different between picks 2-10 will be so marginal that it wont matter. Gay, Aldrige, Bargnani, Splitter, Thomas, Rondo, Redick, Carney, Shelden Williams are all solid players and will probably fit the needs of certain teams. Some have more potential and upside than others (Redick, Carney, Williams) , others have a high ceiling and are really raw (Gay, Thomas, Rondo). This team can win 27-32 games and still get a top 10 pick. Winning those extra 7-12 games will do wonders for your young players (Gomes, Perk, Jefferson, Greene, Green, etc.) and them knowing what it takes to win some games.

Why would the players tank? It makes no sense for them. None of their jobs with the team are secure. Why would they lose on purpose to get a draft pick for next year when it's possible that they may never even play with the drafted player if they get traded or sign somewhere else. Especially with how quick some players can show potential and can be out of the league in 2 years. It also hurts the psyche or young players. Players tanking to get draft picks is one of the stupidest ideas in sports today.

What you just said makes little/no sense, so here is my attempted response.

Come on, pal, read my posts. Educate yourself on the draft. Before saying something like that. The top of the draft is decently deep, around 1-10 are all going to be solid NBA players. There are PLENTY of solid players filling the lottery, so why worry about where you land? Gaining experience from winning is much more valuable than losing 1 or 2 spots on a draft pick.

right now there two best young players are out.....what the hell is the point of winning.....i want morrison and the more the celtics lose the better chance we can get him. we have been rebuilding for years. its time the celtics finally had the number pick in the draft.

Well, its hard to get that pick when the Bobcats blow more dick than a f***ing crackwhore. Again, since they are out it is a GREAT opportunity to get guys like Dwayne Jones and Gerald Green experience in closer games. You need to give up on Morrison, hes lighting s*** up down there in Gonzaga and hes basically a lock for #1 pick.

what the hell is the point of winning

That might be the single most f***ing stupid ANYONE has said on this board or in this thread. Congratulations.

actually the knicks might finish worse than the bobcats but too bad since isiah traded that pick lottery unprotected they won't see it.

Haha, are you joking? Have you seen the Bobcats roster lately? The other night Melvin Ely, Matt Carroll, and Jumaine Jones saw significant minutes. If the Knicks finish worse than the Bobcats, I will personally give you all the money I have in the bank.

Jsinger, you need to give it up. Your posts make little to no sense right now and even if I can make out what you are trying to say it is still stupid.

Do you even understand the lottery? You don't have to be a terrible team to get the number 1 pick, it's not like football. It's a random drawing of the 14 teams not in the playoffs.

How about the Celtics try to win, and if they get into the playoffs, great, it's good experience for the young guys. If they don't, THEN you can start thinking about draft picks. Besides, when you get into the playoffs, it's like a whole new season.
