Well, I hate to be the one to break you the news, but he's the White Sox announcer. Not the road announcer...he can be biased, he's not a national commentator. You want to talk about biases? How about Chris Berman's bias toward the Red Sox in the ALDS? Now that's something to complain about, he's not supposed to do that, yet he was on your side since day one. And how about the ESPN bias? How about the bias we have to put up with in the local and national media? We put up with your biases in the NATIONAL media, I think you can put up with Hawk for 2 and a half hours.

I can't stand Berman, too. But I could care less about him.

Anyway, Harrelson might be the only local play-by-play announcer that has a totally different tone when something happens big, either good or bad for his team. Berman is a Giant fan, but even if the Dodgers hit a heart breaking homerun, he wouldn't sound like "Ahhhhh f***!!!!!", or just stay quiet. Just face it, Harrelson has no professionalism in broadcasting games. BTW, he also does national televised games on WGN, so it would annoy the s*** out of the person who is watching that game if he/she's rooting for the White Sox's opponents.

You have to undrstand 1) Almost EVERYONE on this board hates Hawk. Get over it as you and your "White Sox Nation" (I head that on ESPN radio this morning LMAO  ) like to say. 2) We understand ESPN and FOX's biasedness. Its just they aren't that much bias towards us as you think. I missed this years ALDS (mostly anyway) due to basketball practice, so I can't say much about this year.

White Sox Nation? Tell me they weren't using that seriously.

OK Dude, this was serious. I was listening to the Dan Patrick show driving to school, and he read an email and it said something to the effect of "...and it frustrates us in the White Sox Nation..." I really don't remember what else was actually said but I DEFINATELY remember they said "White Sox Nation."

I can't put up with John Madden for even 1 hour. What makes you think I can put up with Hawk for 2 1/2 hours???? IT'S IMPOSSIBLEEEEEEEE!!

Haha. I kid.

Red Sox fans must be nappin'. See you White Sox fans tomorrow. Maybe we can get this board reworked. The name "Talksox" is OK, just need to change the colors of the borders, stick up the White Sox logo, stuff like that. Oh well, gotta leave work.

Congrats, for 30 minutes there were no Red Sox fans' presence.

OKay, so if you guys cant stand Hawk then why watch WGN when the redsox and whitesox are playing? why dont you just listen to the radio or something? I cant stand Madden either, haha although he was a great coach.

That's true, but sometimes you want to get annoyed and hear his shittiness.

I think he's saying that WGN may be the only source of opposing team's games for out of towners.

I really don't mind Madden that much. Granted I don't watch MNF too often but he seems to know what he's talking about. Plus his video game provides me with hours of entertainment.

True Madden's games are rather enjoyable.

ahah well that is the poorest excuse in the world, but i think the easiest way to get annoyed is talking to earl, dont ya think Moose? But anyways that si the stupidest thing in the world.

I don't unless I obsolutely have to. I was giving Moose a better excuse, and poking fun at Hawk too. But like Stocker said, some guys don't have a choice but to watch WGN. Oh well...

I always hit mute in Madden and listen to music.

Announcers tend to suck a lot of the time, because they say obvious stuff to cater to the retarded fan. That's why I like Jim Kaat's analysis, because he really doesn't put in much BS when he's giving commentary.

Thats a good point. They do say OBVIOUS stuff.

I used to do that with All Star Baseball. I don't hit mute though...my TV leaves that annoying "mute" square in the corner. I just turn the volume totally down.

I like Hawk and DJ in the booth, they do a fine job. It also doesnt hurt that Hawk alsmost beat the crap out of that idiot Marroitti in Minn one day.

Whenever the two teams were playing in Chicago, MLB Extra Innings normally provided the WGN broadcast. So for out of state Red Sox fans (outside of New England, really) the WGN broadcasts were the only shown on Extra Innings, and they couldn't switch to NESN.

I dont know if thats the case with cable, but on DirecTV, with Extra innings, you get the NESN feed, as WGN is a provided basic network.

But note, that WGN is not the primary network for the White Sox, they only broadcast occasionally on WGN, they mainly use Comcast Sports Net Chicago.

Also, usually the feed used for Extra Innings is that of the home team (if available).

woahh...i didnt hear about this, what happened with Hawk and Marriotti?

It was sometime this summer, Mariotti had been writing his usual trash about Reinsdorf, hawk said something about it on the air during a game, Jay smacked Hawk in an article. So, I guess one day at a White Sox Twins game Hawk and Jay passed by each other and they almost got into a fight right there at the stadium. This is according to the Chicago ESPN radio guys. I for one would have put my money on Hawk, and for the record most people in Chicago dont like Jay's articles, he does have some good ones every no and then but their mostly trash.

This nation BS is used for anything. I've heard high school sports in which the team mascot has nation afterwards. Nation does not mean a nation of fans, but the fanbase.

Exactly, Marriotti is a huge moron...terrible journalist, I don't even know why he has a job. Probably so Statboy can rip him a new one everyday on ATH. Marriotti only tries to pick fights, and he's going to eventually lose his job at the Sun Times and on ATH.

I used to LOVE that show when Max Kellerman was on there, he made it funny. And well I still watched after he left, but I started getting sick of Mariotti, and Paige for that matter and I started watching PTI more.

I know how much Mariotti bugs me with his bandwgoning stats and arguments. I can't even begin to fathom how much he bugs the Chicago fans (of ANY team).

Max Kellerman was my favorite on that show. Loudmouth Yankee fan.. hmm

He does 1050 ESPN Radio I believe now, I heard him one day coming home at like 7. Statboy isn't that great as the host.
