I have been a lurker for quite some time on this forum. I am a lifelong hardcore Chicago White Sox fan and have always loved the Red Sox (and the Bruins, for that matter). Boston is so similar to Chicago that it makes for a pleasant time talking to BoSox fans. Hardworking, bluecollar people who love the Red Sox and hate New York. Where could a Chicago boy go wrong in having friends like you all?

From Francona to Ortiz and Wakefield, all have expressed a cordial and respectful attitude towards my White Sox, and that's not something we get often. Cubs and Yankees fans simply think too highly of themselves to even notice us. Good enough... We like it that way.

Alternatively, I want to personally thank Boston for treating the White Sox and us fans with the respect we feel we've earned. The Eastern Sports Propaganda Network has not noticed the White Sox all year (we've been relegated to deep in the broadcasts of sportscenter even when we held the best record in baseball for most of the year) and continued to pursue the marginal Yankees as a story.

On behalf of all Chicago and White Sox fans everywhere, thank you to the city of Boston for treating us with respect. I hope that we get the Yankees so that we can leave our footprints all over their arrogant faces on the way to a Series title.

Good luck, Boston. You'll always have friends in Chicago!

Ive seen this post before... on this board... about 5 times in the last day...

I dont see why its necessary thanking us. All I see it as as s***ing on us even more and rubbing it in our faces. One more, I explode...

Apparently, you missed the point...

I was thanking the Red Sox fans and Boston for treating us with respect in defeat. I was saying that Boston is a class act and that other towns don't act with the grace Boston fans exhibited.

I was thanking the city of Boston and Boston fans for being decent and gracious people.

A similar post was made recently by a other color sox fan.

Yeah, try like 5 or 6.

But yeah, I understand what your saying, but I have seen it so many times in the last few days its starting to piss me off, haha.

Hopefully, it will be the Yankees. I want the White Sox to leave a trail of tears through New York.

The Red Sox went through the Bronx in style last year, kicking the Yankees around like a sparring partner. It was inspirational. Here's a toast to hoping my White Sox follow the Red Sox suit.

A trail of tears through New York is a trail of laughter in Boston and Chicago. It just makes it that much sweeter.

What did we ever do to you?

You are a New Yorker. That's enough 'doing' to anyone from Chicago. Or Boston, for that matter.

Here's a toast to the White Sox beating the SNOT out of the Yankees.

Enjoy your little 'mystique/aura/deity' image while you can hold it...

Your reign ended last September with 4 straight losses.

Oh, and tell Randy Johnson that I know of a horse's backside that wants Johnson's face back.

baseball = just a game at the end of the day buddy. you have no right to judge me based on where i was born. ;) and no i'm not meaning to start a war of words here, just simply defending new yorkers, which goes past yankee fans.

Chicagoans hate New Yorkers. It's historical. You can't just ignore it.

We have the best comedians: Second City. You get them second hand for SNL.

We have the best food: Polish, Italian, Mexican, Soul... Deep dish pizza.

We have the best Irish pubs (along with Boston). You have strip club chains.

We have the Sears Tower.

We have Chicago Style Hot Dogs.

We have Michael Jordan and 6 titles.

We have the best St. Patrick's Day Parade (with Boston)... The South Side Irish Parade.

We have Mayor Daley.

We have two teams WITHIN THE SAME CITY, not boroughs.

We have Sox-Cubs. You have the media-hyped Mets-Skankees (no one cares).

We have Hemingway.

We have Brando. You have DeNiro. Ok, so that's a wash.

We have The Blues Brothers, Buddy Guy, The Smashing Pumpkins, Eddie Vedder, and Da Coach.

Boston has JFK.

Boston has the Tea Party and the American Revolution.

Paul Revere. Sam Adams. Good Will Hunting.

Boston has the Bruins and Bobby Orr and Ray Bourque.

Boston has class.

Boston has Carlton Fisk (with us), Ted Williams, Carl Yazstremski, Jim Rice, Cy Young, and No-Mah.

You buy your free agents.

In summary, Boston and Chicago are working-man's cities who don't get too high off themselves. We're hardworking people of Italian, Irish, Polish, Mexican, African, German, Russian, Chinese, Czech, and Indian heritage.

Chicago and Boston are New York without the smell.

But Giuliani is cool, though. I like him.

But screw rodriguez. Screw Torre. Screw Matsui.

I'll take Konerko, Guillen, and Iguchi.

I'll take Manny, Francona, and Ortiz.

New York's sports scene is only big because New Yorkers tell everyone it's big.

New York's sports scene is worthless. The fans are sound and fury. No depth of knowledge and no dedication.

Simply loud.

Am I allowed to like you and Chicago while at the same time hating deep dish pizza?

edit: There's a severe grammatical mistake in this post, but fixing it makes it sound just as bad.

And how ironic that you should have to thank former Yankees, El Duque and Contreras, for your team's success. You are laughable and are not even worth my taking time out of my life to even remotely attempt to show what a classless, moronic, stereotypical person you are. But oh wait, you did that well enough yourself in your post.

You don't have to repeat your dumb self 20 times, it's like a broken record, just stfu and continue posting. Red Sox friends with White Sox, I hate to disagree, but I do. Apparently you missed the point, blah blah blah. Apparently YOU missed the point, it's like rubbing it in our faces. dude, it's best to just keep quiet.

I didn't feel like reading all this s***, but the first part pissed me off, I don't give a flying f*** if you beat us or not. Boston has class, sure, but do you have to post s*** like 20 times, THAT'S kicking the red sox while they're down.

I'm sure he did, but if he wants to make topics about this 5 times, right? Anyway, if he wants to do that he wants attention, it's taking a shot at the Red Sox, wow, we got class, who am I kidding? We don't got class, we f***ed up our city in a riot after we won the world series, it's not classy. Damnit I love the Red Sox, but since when do we got class, ya f***in' brown noser.

Did I mention all those things are stereotypes? Chicago hates New York, is that something your daddy told you?

Hate to bust your bubble, but New York has everything Chicago has..... and probably more. Sure, Boston has the start of the revolution, and the Sawx, so that makes Boston cooler than New York, but Chicago I don't know. What I hear from you sounds like jealousy. I don't like the Yankees, but I have nothing against the city itself. In fact I'm probably going to be stationed in New York for the Marines. But about the Subway Series and no one caring.......I hate to bust your bubble, no one really cares about Chi town series either.... People love the Cubs.....but no one cares about the other Sox. But yeah, that was really a hate filled post from someone from the Second city.

Chicago and Boston are New York without the "Stink" this is funny. Because if you go to Chicago, that is the most foul smelling City in the United States, bar none. Maybe Des Moines is nasty smelling too, but Chicago without out stink wouldn't be Chicago. Chicago smells like s***, sorry to burst you bubble, AGAIN.

Alright already. Chicago has better food than New York, if you ask for directions in Chicago your not as likely to get shot and robbed as in NY. Chicago is a big city with a Midwest feel. We had a President call Cub games for a few seasons, we have the tallest building in the USA, and the toughest mayor in America. Lets stop the Chicago basing please.

Okay...

, if you ask for directions in Chicago your not as likely to get shot and robbed as in NY.

I still find it hillarious that people beleive these things about New York, one of the safer major cities in the nation (thanks to Rudy Guiliani.)

Safest Major Cities

1. Virginia Beach

2. San Jose

3. Colorado Springs

4. Austin

.....

16. New York City

PS : when was the last time a new member introduced them selves ? Think about it.

Hah, if that city is right next to Los Angeles in that category, then that city is bad.
