mo in for the 9th, this pretty much makes him inactive for tomorrows game 5

If he were human, I would agree with you. However, he is not.

On that note....thaaaaaaa Yankees win!

LMAO!!! You wish. He threw 35 pitches today and he hasnt pitched in 4 days prior to todays game. The only person who MIGHT be inactive for tomorrows game is Scott Shields who threw 25 pitches today and has pitched in every game this series. The Yankees did 2 things with todays win. They sent the series back to Cali and they worked the Angels bullpen. Escobar threw 35 pitches today and has pitched in I believe 3 games this series.

so they now have the upper-hand? colon is going tomorrow you don't have to worry about pitch count with him anyways, he is so strong his pitch count is irrelevant.

Don't mind him. He is just mad because the red sox got swept, the yankees won the division, and the yankees have 20 more rings.

with a bad back? There was talk before Washburn went down that they would skip Colon and go with Lackey in game 5. Just in case you dont believe me here is what I saw from rotoword:

Bartolo Colon - S - Angels

Bartolo Colon wasn't brought back to start Game 4 against the Yankees in part because his back is still bothering him.

There's a slight chance that Colon might not start tomorrow. If that's the case, John Lackey would be available on four days' rest. Oct. 9 - 1:27 pm et

Someone sounds just a tad bitter... :dunno:

He's got a point. Now that the BoSox aren't in the playoffs anymore, and that the Yankees still are, and that they won tonight, all the Yankee fans are returning to this board to make an uncanny and unwanted presence. It's a tad annoying to see you guys coming back ONLY when the Yankees are successful, and when the BoSox slip.

On the other hand, YS013 does overreact sometimes, but I don't blame him here.

Very bannable post. I hope someone sees it.

First off, saying Rivera won't pitch in Game 5 is just dumb. He's pitched more than 3 innings in 2 days, believe me. His problems arise when he has to go 3 consecutive days or more.

Second Colon scares me, not in the least. The Yankee lineup has already had one look at him and put up 4 runs. His back is bad, his fastball will be up and hittable. I think we can definitely win tomorrow night.

Colon is one swing away from having a 1 ER outing in 7 IP against the Yankees in game one. The pitch Sheffield blooped over Kennedy's head was an absolute pitchers pitch. Nine times out of ten, that pitch is put into play for an out. I'm not trying to take anything away from Sheff, but that was the difference maker in game one. I'd ice some champagne if I were the Yankees, but I'd think twice before popping the corks until the last out is recorded.

Great win for the Yanks. Let's hope they could get through colon tomorrow and advance to the ALCS.

To the Yankee fans talking about not being afraid of colon, then you must be stoned because like someone on this board said he was one swing away from having a 7 IP, 1 ER game in game 1. He does have a bad back so hopefully that will benefit us.

I was here when the Yankees were 4+ games back, I wouldn't really describe that as succesful.

hes serious...if this were the regular season then you would be right, but its not, Mo will be available for tonight's game, and he will volunteer for 2 innings of work (though Joe wont let him get 2, thats what we have Randy out there for tonight)

Believe me I know, he actually looked very good. I just love the numbers we have against him historically, and I think seeing him for the second time in a week will work to our advantage. Of course, the same can be said about Mussina.

I love these kinds of games. This series has been very entertaining thus far so I'm excited to see how game 5 pans out. Either way, I must say that I very much enjoyed this baseball season. The Yankees took me and all yankee fans on such a roller coaster ride and those last three games, the importance of them, was really fun to see. So here's to the Yanks winning game 5! Let's just hope its a repeat of game 1.

I wouldnt say the series has been entertaining, I would say it has been pretty stressful. We should have won this thing by now.

Lets hope its a repeat of game 1 indeed

Joe's made it official; everyone is available out of the pen tonight (Wang, Small, the Big Unit, and Mo will be used for two if it's absolutely necessary.)

Jaret Wright has been sent to Chicago and will likely be activated to pitch Game One of the ALCS if we win tonight and end up using everyone.

I take it that you guys aren't necessarily happy or enthusiastic about watching Wright for ALCS game 1 if you make it?

And no, definately not. His post-season numbers suck. BUT at least if JW does start Game 1, IF the Yanks get that far, and they lose the Yanks won't have the chance to go up 3 games and then lose 4.
