If the Yankees win today and the Guardians lose the Yankees would have a 2 game lead. So lets say the Yankees lose tomorrow. The Red Sox (no matter what the Guardians) do would finish 1 game ahead of the Guardians thus knocking CLE out of the playoffs. Then we would be tied but they would break the tie on record against and the Yankees would have won the season series. Its hard to understand.
