O's go for two against Yankees

New York (92-65) at Baltimore (71-86), 7:05 p.m. ET

After two months of dormancy, the Orioles' offense finally woke up from their hibernation and took out its frustration on the Yankees pitching staff. Baltimore scored a season-high 17 runs in a 17-9 win over the Bombers, ensuring the American League East will be tied for at least one more day. Jay Gibbons drove in four runs and added his 100th career home run. Now the Orioles will try to earn at least a split of the series with a win Wednesday. Daniel Cabrera will make his final start of the season, ending an inconsistent -- and sometimes frustrating -- campaign. He struggled at the beginning of the season, only showing flashes of his immense potential, such as May 9 when he blanked the Twins for eight innings with 11 strikeouts. And there was the ugly, such as eight runs in 3 2/3 innings on Aug. 6 at Texas. But after 25 days on the disabled list, he seems to have gathered himself, going 2-1 with a 2.25 ERA since returning.

Yankees right-hander Shawn Chacon has been a valuable pickup from the Rockies, and he has emerged as a dependable starter after wasting away as a reliever in Colorado. In consecutive starts against Toronto, Chacon did not allow a run in 16 innings. Chacon is 3-1 with a 2.25 ERA in four September outings and could be the team's Game 1 starter in the playoffs. The Orioles' offense has produced just 13 home runs in September, one more than Toronto for the fewest in the Major Leagues. Sunday was the first multihomer game for the O's since Sept. 1. If the Orioles finish the season without a 30-homer player, it was be the third time in the past six years that has occurred. Miguel Tejada leads the team with 26.

I think it's pretty ridiculous to complain about something that you can change. Make it late at night if it means that much to you. But if you aren't going to have the gumption to do the work, then don't complain about it. Making those things is a pain in the ass. I appreciate that YS013 and RS take so much time making them. Bitching about how and when it is done is petty.

Wow, they pretty much copy and paste something... your making it sounds like such a pain-staking pain in the ass job. But whatever, I'm tired, and dont really feel like fighting a pointless fight.

Whatever it is, it's more than you are willing to do. Besides opening your mouth, that is.

I hope we get the thrid, but this has to be a really bad way to end the season for the O's, they have a 3 games on the road vs the Yankees, all klosses, 4 vs the SOx in fenway, all losses, and 4 vs the Yankees at home, so far 2 of 3 are losses

But, it happens, lets hope we win today
