Manny doesn't want to leave. The reason he is always requesting a trade is because he knows the organization doesn't want him here.

 

Theo Epstein is a business man. No question Manny is a fantastic baseball player and a great hitter....but it was a horrendous decision to sign him to a deal so big. It has really held down what Theo can do which is why they want to get rid of him. I'm sure its nothing personal.

Actually if you read Reversing the Curse they don't like the way Manny deals with "people of influence" etc. which is why they pushed so much for A-Rod because he can deal with people very well like that.

 

I really think they're not fans of Manny.

 

Whatever the contract is, Manny is one of the great hitters of our generation and letting him go would just be dumb. Nobody would ever pitch to Ortiz again.
