News

Yankees reliever Tom Gordon was unavailable for Monday's game, sitting out while combating a urinary tract infection, according to MLB.com. Manager Joe Torre said Gordon woke up in the middle of the night in pain and began taking antibiotics Monday afternoon, making him sluggish for the rest of the day.

Call us naive, but we thought urinary tract infections were common in women and not men. It sounds like Gordon is taking care of his junk and should return to the hill later in the week.

......lol

That isin't funny. I had that when i was 10, and it is painful. VERY painful. Every time i pissed it was like acid running out me.

Ok, so i guess it is funny.

That's pretty.. weird. As long as he'll be ok I guess it's not a big deal. But not the most common injury to befall big league pitchers.

Ha, if it's a "natural" thing, then yes, it definitely qualifies. I'm not sure how you'd self-inflict a urinary tract infection, anyways. Unlike...ironing yourself.

Just what the Yanks need down the stretch, their guys comin down with women's problems.

Eh, he needed a rest anyway.

I'm surprised he needed time off for something like this. I have one right now. The only thing I can think is that it's a real bad one and/or he is tired from the infection.
