With Bellhorn out of the picture it's GREAT to see the ire of Red Sox fans pointed in the right direction.

We need to somehow band together and get the message to Red Sox management that we as Red Sox fans never want to see Kevin Millar in a Red Sox uniform again. This guy kills the team every day. Reasons why Kevin Millar needs to be extricated from the team and erased from Red Sox history forever, 1984 style(in no particular order):

1. Cowboy up.

2. Shots of JD comment.

3. Saying A-Rod was better than Ramirez AND Nomar.

4. Inability to play defense.

5. Inability to hit for power. (.365 slugging)

6. Inability to hit lefties. (.237/.336/.267)

7. Inability to hit with runners on (.254/.321/.337)

................and 2 out (.188/.297/.234)

8. Inability to hit in the playoffs (.239/.327/.348)

9. Inability to hit on the road (.242/.312/.286)

The prosecution rests.

But I think you are all overlooking how difficult to wave that towel and pour those shots of JD. Talent like that doesn't come around everyday. Once in a generation if you're lucky...

ok Nixon sits vs L, so why not sit millar

why does he continue to play Millar away from Fenway?

.286 SLG, .598 OPS on the road... terrible. When he does get hits on the road, he's a singles hitter. 0 HR, 6 doubles on the road. Please Tito, end this madness.. at least stop hitting him in the 6th slot on the road.

Yea, once in a rare while, maybe even today, he'll 'prove me wrong' by hitting a rare double or HR on the road, but if he sits Nixon and his .676 OPS vs lefties, then he should sit Millar and his far worse road OPS.

Sorry for the Millar rant, I know there are a ton of others right now, but it just frustrates me how loyal he is to that guy. The numbers don't lie, he stinks on the road.

If they're going to start sitting a horrible defensive player in places where he stinks, they should not only sit him on the road, and against lefties, but also in the playoffs, and if he comes up with runners on base, too.

There's no point having a player who can't hit, run, or field in the lineup, let alone on the bench. Kevin's outstayed his welcome in Boston.

Well said. And that argument of "Oh, but he keeps the clubhouse loose and makes everyone laugh!" is just getting old and tired...

Tito is supposed to be a stat guy yet I find he ignores stats he doesn't like.

For example if a left handed pitcher is better against right handed batters Tito will still use the guy like a specialist to get LEFT handed batters out (even though he cannot).

Similarly, if we have a right handed hitter who is terrible against left handed pitchers Tito will still prefer to start the righty batter vs the lefty pitcher.

It's hard to believe the RedSox will continue with 3 first basemen

The following is from Rotoworld just awhile ago.

Kevin Millar had one single in four at-bats today. He has two RBI during a month of August in which the Red Sox have scored at least 10 runs on five occasions.

Millar still has a decent OBP, but practically every ball he hits with authority goes into the stands down the third base line. He hasn't homered since June 4 and he hasn't had a multi-RBI game since July 6. The Red Sox should probably keep him around to play against left-handers, but we'd be in favor of his release just to get him out of the lineup versus righties once and for all. That neither Manny Ramirez nor Roberto Petagine got a single at-bat in a 6-5 loss today is another illustration that the the way to prevent Terry Francona from using his worst options is to take them away entirely

It's just a matter of time.

Millar's ass should have been on the bench today. Stern should have been in. Shouldn't the kid get some playing time ( Tito's game plan - got to keep my players fresh ) ? What easy teams are they saving him for ? Not to mention, a speedy guy in that big right field of Detroit.

guybo did you catch that game today?

3 for 5, 2 doubles, 2 runs scored and an RBI. Pretty good days work by our shortstop.

Rents had a good game and kept us in there

undoubtedly, the POTG

Tom Caron said we can expect John Olerud and Roberto Petagine to get more starts at 1st base. Cuz Millar has been in a slump, last homer was 53 games ago, since then only has had 12 extra base hits (all doubles), and only 15 RBIs in 53 games

I feel like having two brown twins reading this crap.

Need I explain..It's not like Kevin is at home changing diapers during the season, they live in some s*** hole in texas or some place. so it's mrs. 300 lbs, blind and butt ugly millar, who takes care of those poor klids. PLus, as sad it is to think about kevin gets paid enough to get some hired help in there to take care of the twins, while kevin is traveling around making a fatr f***ing ass of himself for the sox and pissing me off, and while Mrs. millar's turns tricks in the trailer park nearby, I am sure someone is up all nght with those brats and it aint kevin.

He sucks and you cant blame it on the twins, or anyone else.

Sorry all you Millar fans but this guy is KILLING US this year. 1B is a power position and 4hr's and 40rbi is completely unacceptable, in fact what does he do well? His glove is average at best, he's a terrible base runner (one of the worst in the league) and he hits like a second basemen. Anything he tries to pull goes foul and he refuses to hit opposite field even though yesterday he did but probably not on purpose. I truly believe the only reason he's on the team still is because he can play the OF (about as well as he plays 1st) and he's our only righty 1B. Mind you he's hit 5th in the line up for most of the season and produced very little of anything worth while. I do understand that he hit's behind Manny and Ortiz and they are RBI machines but that still doesn't get him off the hook. Theo really needs to address 1B this off season and if Millar is such a great club house guy then keep him around as a utility player OF/1B/PH and if he can't accept that then too bad. He's done nothing this year to make a case as a starter and should be treated as such in the off season.

-Just a side note Minky, whom we gave away to the Mets has more HR's and a higher SLG % in 117 fewer AB's AND he fields a gold glove 1B. I know he was on the DL for a minute but he still looks better than Millar.

Millar has fans? I urge anyone who has one good reason why Millar shouldn't be DFA'd YESTERDAY to speak up. I've been bashing him for weeks, and nobody's been able to provide one.

I'm not going to repeat the statistics I've already given for Millar, he is awful. Saying he hits like a second baseman is a little generous. There are 18 qualified second baseman who have a higher slugging percentage than he does. In fact, EVERY SINGLE qualified second baseman (according to ESPN) has a higher slugging percentage.

and we're not talking about Jeff Kent here... here are some guys who are slugging higher than Kevin Millar's .364 (no kidding).

Luis Castillo (.375), Craig Counsell (.393), Chone Figgins (.400), Orlando Hudson (.422)

That's how bad Millar is. That just comes off of the list of second baseman who have enough ABs to qualify for the batting title. Only 2 of them have fewer RBIs than Kevin Millar, both of whom bat at the TOP of the order in the NL (Luis Castillo and Craig Counsell) who basically have RBI chances killed often times by bad pitchers batting # 9.

The fact that this guy still wears a uniform is a disgrace to the organization.... and they bat him FIFTH!!!! this is the man who we have protecting Manny Ramirez?!?!?!? It's a wonder anyone pitches to him.

a compelling case by els....I cant even muster any like for him as a person, becasue he stinks on the field. that loud-mouthed ..fake laugh, fake hick, s*** is repulsive...he reminds me of bush pretending he is a good ole boy from texas...when we all know he isnt..kevin lived in LA for christ sake. I hate evrything about him on and off the field...

give me trot, tek , mueller...millar wouldnt be welcome in fenway selling hot dogs.
