That just stinks of MLB's favoritism of the Redsox. If the Yankees were in the same boat, they would've been made to play no matter what time the rain would end! Again, it's discrimination against the Yankees!

Wow haha theyre really stupid considering it would be raining throughout whole night, and both teams have games the next day, red sox having to travel to detroit, plus there is the f***ing health and safety of players and fans to consider. Yeah I'm sure theyd have yanks play through this...

Though not from the YES network, one of my favorite lines from a Yankee fan was during game 4 of the ALCS last year when that idiot McCarver said that "this game is a testament the machine that is the New York Yankees" just before the most historic comeback in the history of sport. He had the Sox dead and buried and was performing last rites and the patient was still at bat...

It looked like the White Sox were finally going to beat the Red Sox yesterday, but then came the rain. Now we find ourselves STILL 5 games back in the loss column. Anyone who thinks we're going to miraculously sweep the Red Sox that final week of the season is in for a rude awakening. We blew this season when we let lame teams like the Royals a DRays kick our butts earlier this season, now we've got an uphill battle to fight all the way til the end. Our starters are hurt, and our relievers (except for Mo) are iffy...We better hope our hitters all become superstars for the last 6 weeks of the season, or else our Yankees may be watching the complete playoffs on TV for the first time since '94...because it should be pretty obvious by now that neither Oakland, nor the Angels will be going away this year, and the only team from the AL east who will be going to the playoffs will be whoever finishes first in the division...Good luck to our team in the final 6 weeks where we'll have to go AT LEAST 30-15 to make it and hope the Red Sox only play about .500 ball the rest of the way.

Hey, there's no rest for the weary. You have to play the best to be the best. The Yanks will take a no lose mentality all the way up to the last game of the season, and I think that will benefit them in the post-season.

Dream on snb there's no way the Yankees make the post season. I know thats hard for you Yankee fans to comprehend but it is possible for the Yankees not to make the post season.
Posted
yup you yankee fans need to realize there are othere teams beside new york and boston, like that guy said we may only need to play.500 ball and we play a lot more home games than road

Just remember that the Red Sox wear red, and red=communism. Yankees represent everything good about the United States. Red Sox represent everything bad about the rest of the world.

hahahaha....we are americas team

Of course I know there are other teams besides NY and Bos haha. The spoilers like the DRays are going to have a huge impact on who gets into the post season this year. The way I see it, there are 4 teams trying to get to the post-season with only 3 positions. LAA, A's, BOS, and the Yanks. One will win the Wild Card, and two will win their respective divisions. One team gets left out. IMO I don't think the A's will stay so hott and I think they will be the ones left out, but baseball is a fickle game and, to quote Yogi, "It ain't over till it's over."

one that really had me scratching my head

How could the Red Sox trade Curt Schilling for Casey Fossum and not keep Fossum for more than one year? Then again, they rebuilt the Brewers by trading for Richie Sexson last year too.

Posted
Both teams have pitching woes, but the Yanks offense (as is being proven tonight) just isn't good enough to compete with Boston. This not a team that consistantly can score runs, and the Sox never let up.

ahhh theres a smart yankee fan

"move the sox to another park and they are in 3rd place in the east its that simple, that park is what makes them good "

HAHAHAHA - what, does the opposing team play in another stadium? Sorta like teleconferencing or something? HAHAHAHA

I could be wrong but I think there's a stupid rule that states that during a double play situation the 2nd baseman or SS don't have to touch the bag, they just have to be in the vacinity of the base.

I could be totally wrong tho, and I'm not tryin to be sarcastic or anything either.

anyone else heard this?

It's called a "neighborhood" play, and doesn't necessarily have to be 2nd base. When there is a forceout play, followed by an attempt at an additional play, the forceout only has to be "in the neighborhood".

Posted
There is also the same rule about a first basemen. If you notice 9 times out of 10 on a routine out the 1B will leave the bag well before the ball gets there.
Posted
ok then how come the double play in the 10th against Tampa Bay, 1st baseman and 2nd baseman didnt touch the bags, no outs were called

Yes it's true some umps don't flollow it, but in general if you're in the vicinity they call it an out.

MICHAEL AND CASHMAN. THANKS GUYS! NICE JOB PLUGGING THE HOLES!

Thank you for Bubba, Womack, Proctor, Embree, Henn, Redding, May, Cabrera, Reese, Philips, Russ Johnson, Groom, Stanton, Karsay, Anderson, Franklin and all the other crap you put on the roster!

Thank you!!

Posted
He also has someone named Manny Ramierz hitting behind him, which makes it dangerous to pitch around Ortiz. You could put both on, but it leaves VERY little margin for error

ahhh praising the most dangerous tandem in baseball

here are some posts about embree

Can we get rid of this guy I would rather have no left handers than him the guys has a 7 ERA Lefties are batting .303 against him he brings a negative red Sox attitude to the team I would rather have Wayne Franklyn or groom than this ###### Stanton's ERA is 2 runs lower than this guy.

they should have never picked him up in the first place. teams release players for a reason. cuz they suck. just leave it up to the yankees to pick up the garbage

embree is a piece of fieces...........he is the worst pitcher ever and to top that off he is an ex-red sock......when he came in tonight i knew that we were in some trouble

and ###### Cashman signs him with a No trade clause.

hahahhahaaha

well one of our advantages over the sox just vaporized, Our "great" bullpen has $h1t the bed, and it couldnt come at a more crucial time in the season. Mo struggles. ok fine, he blows one maybe two games, but blowing like 3 straight saves and losing a game in extra innings, most of these games against the devil rays??!! Unacceptable. Sturtze is in this twilight zone with his control, gordan proctor and felix cant throw strikes, embree is as reliable as stanton and quantrill were in the beginning of the season...i just dont understand this inconsistency wut the he'll is going on. If our bullpen doesnt get their heads out of their ######es, we wont stand a chance in the playoffs

The Difference Between The Yankees And Red Sox, This year is the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, The games against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays this year is the difference in the standings between the Yankees and Red Sox. It is unacceptable and disgusting. One of the worst teams in baseball should not be destroying the Yankees. If the Yankees do not make the playoffs, they have only themselves to blame for not beating the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

They should be ashamed of themselves
