Rangers looked dead yesterday except for Lundqvist. They need some time to get their legs back, they're off for 3 days. Next 5 are Pittsburgh and Philly twice, and a game with the Isles. They should at worst do a 3 out of 5.

B's next 5--

Washington

NY Islanders

at Ottawa

Montreal

at Montreal

im thinking they can get atleast 6 points out of these games. Those two games against montreal are huge and they need to atleast win 1. They should beat NYI and Wash. They've played Ottawa pretty tough this year so that should be a good game. If they win that game, they could really gain alot of momentum by beating a good team in Ottawa.

Joe Thornton was ejected from another game last night for boarding.

Thornton was assessed a 5 minute major and a game misconduct for crushing Tom Kostopoulous into the boards. Under league rules, a player who receives 3 game misconducts will be suspended automatically by the league. He received a game misconduct against the Bruins for his hit on Hal Gill. However, that was later rescinded after being reviewed by league officials. In all, Thornton officially only has 1 game misconduct, which gives the superstar a little breathing room. when and why was it rescinded?

Well it was rescinded because it was a bad call, he hit Gill from the side. I believe if you have 3 game misconducts then there is an automatic suspension.

"Playoffs? Playoffs? Don't talk about Playoffs...You Kidding Me? Playoffs?"

haha JK

I think Atlanta is a little overacheiving, but Toronto should improve as they get healthier and I doubt the Habs can play this bad for the rest of the season.

Ineresting fact: Joe thornton: 17 goals Marco sturm: 18 goals. Altough thornton has more assists I am beginning to think that this was a decent trade for the Bruins. Primeau has played to his potential and stuart has given the B's a solid defensemen.

Thornton's skill is his passing. He made Glen Murray into a great scorer when they played together.

I don't know if Boston has the legs to make the playoffs at the end. Tampa, Toronto and NJ are better teams, and Montreal and Atlanta are going to make it a log jam. If they are going to make a run they will need Raycroft (when healthy) and Thomas to be playing at the top of their games.

tough lose tonight. Canadies won in OT agaisnt the Leafs, so montreal has 52 points along with Toronto. Atlanta lost again though.

Detroit lost too, I believe. Dont get me started on that.

How many points out of playoff contention is Boston, anyways?

The problem won't be the two points out you guys are out, it will be the 4 teams around you. Boston will have to be better than Montreal, Toronto, Atlanta and Florida the rest of the year to make it.

Which is doubtful. It doesnt really matter since the Red Wings are going to take it all anyways. Everyone else may as well stop playing.

they need to find a CENTER for the Murray(when he gets back, thursday)/Samsonov line. They both havn't had a consistent C to play with since the thorton trade. There have been 2 good lines that are playing well lately and shouldn't be changed, the: Bergeron/Sturm/Boyes line and the Primeau/Ibister/Axelsson line. Their defense is improving and has a lot of depth (Leetch, Stuart, Boynton, Tanabe, Slegr, Gill, Jurcina, Alberts) and their goaltending with Hannu and Thomas will be really good.

Boston Globe

Last Wednesday, a Chicago radio station floated the notion that Raycroft and Sergei Samsonov (destined to become an unrestricted free agent July 1) were ticketed for the Blackhawks, in exchange for forwards Tyler Arnason and Mark Bell.

There is a strong connection between Samsonov and Rick Dudley, the Blackhawks' director of player personnel. It was Dudley who helped bring Samsonov, then only 18 years old, to the Detroit Vipers of the IHL in the fall of 1996. The two formed a fast friendship, and if Samsonov reaches the UFA market, it's a virtual certainty that Dudley will encourage GM Dale Tallon to be aggressive in the bidding for the Magical Muscovite.

If Chicago could swing a deal now for the 27-year-old Samsonov, it would give Dudley a few months to persuade his old pal to stay aboard what has been a very unsteady ship in recent years.

The Blackhawks, grim again this season, are on course to finish out of the playoffs for a seventh time in eight seasons. The 45-year rebuilding mission continues.

Trade makes alot of sense for the Bruins. play Arnason and Bell with Murray. Keep the Bergeron/Sturm/Boyes line and the Primeau/Ibister/Axelsson lines the same and then have some combination of Travis Green/Tom Fitzgerald on the 4th line.
