carolina might have more points but i think the senators if they played the hurricanes are the better team. they might not be showing it tonight but one of the reasons is that the dominator is not in net. big break for the bruins tonight not having him in there.

I've got this game on, and it's got me shaking my head.

Yeah, Tim Thomas has given the Bruins good goaltending, but it's more than that. The Sens are playing sloppy hockey and giving the Bruins alot of odd-man rushes up the ice.

It's almost like they expected the Bruins to roll over and all they had to do was show up. Wrong.

bruins NEED atleast a 1 win in their 2 games with Montreal coming up.

Also, anyone know whats up with Jiri Slegr? He hasnt played in a couple of games, but he is still considered to be on the roster and healthy.

Bruins made a minor move today, getting Josh Langfield of waiver from SJ. They realeased goalie Craig Anderson.

Montreal's really been struggling lately. A sweep should not be asking for too much but I don't want to predict anything. Last time I made a promise regarding these 2 teams was when the Bruins were up 3-1 in the 2004 playoffs. That didn't turn out too well.

Bruins picked up Josh Langfeld off waivers from the Sharks today and lost Craig Anderson to the Blues which is no loss. For the record this morning when I heard he was on waivers I said that we should pick him up. I could be an NHL GM easily ;)

The Bruins NEED to move Raycroft for a first/second line center.

Well there is no way they are moving him now since Hannu is injured. Anyway before Thomas came along I said that there should be no way the Bruins trade Razor because of 1 bad half season. Hannu is emerging just as Raycroft did last year but what would of happened if Toivonen has a poor season like Raycroft did this year. We would of had no one. But now with Thomas I feel much more confident in trading him. Thomas has proven that he is a good goalie. In Finland, the AHL, and now that he has been given an opportunity in the NHL. So I feel more confident in letting Raycroft go so we can get another forward and build another strong line behind Bergeron/Boyes/Sturm.

I like raycroft, but 1 of the 3 need to go. You cant have 3 goalies on your team. Most likely, if they try to send 1 down to the minors, they will clear waivers. I think Raycroft is the odd man out since he hasnt helped the team this year and has the most trade value. They'll probably trade him after the Oylmpic break.

Offense

1st line--Boyes/Bergeron/Sturm

2nd line--Samsonov/(Raycroft Trade)/Murray

3rd line--Ibister/Primeau/Axelsson

4th line--Fitzgerald/Green/Langfeld

Defense--

Leetch/Stuart

Boynton/Slegr??(Jurcina if Slegr isnt available)

Tanabe/Gill

Goalies--

Hannu/Tim Thomas

who gets the most playing time when toivenen comes back, Hannu or Thomas??

Well Jurcina has clearly earned more playing time as Slegr is healthy right now but has been a healthy scratch. Hopefully Isbister can return soon but that ankle injury looked serious, so if Isbister doesn't return they can move Green up to the 3rd line and put LaCouture or someone on the 4th line. But my main point is that you can't trade Razor until Hannu comes back.

As far as your other question, it'll be tough. I don't expect Thomas to continue playing this superb but I think the last 2 months of the season will be a fight for not only a playoff spot but for the number 1 goalie job. I don't expect the decision to be made as soon as Toivonen comes back.

You did call it. Nice one.

hannu is the more talented goaltender than raycroft. i like raycroft but he does not make the ridiculous type of saves i have seen hannu make. hannu is much quicker and in this NHL with less pads for the goaltender that is key.

I know nothing about both goalies, but I would say that the most important aspect of a goalie is controlling rebounds, and being in position to make the second save. If you limit second chance opportunities you'll do well in this league.

Lundqvist does make spectacular saves, but the reason Ranger fans can tell he's way better than Weekes is that he's always smothering the puck and always in position on rebounds.

i have seen both hannu and raycroft....hannu is more athletic and makes better saves and is more talented. with the rule changes raycroft has sturggled to make the transition as he is not as quick as hannu. if i was running the bruins the minute hannu is healthy enough to come back i trade raycroft for young offensive help and draft picks.

Hannu is 21 and is a keeper

Raycroft is 25 and still may improve

Thomas is 31 and his stock will never be higher. I think he's the one I trade.
