It's nice to see that most of the Yankee fans over there have enough respect to give Matt their well wishes. Some jag offs compared his injury to Wang's ... whatever sense that makes. But for the most part its a nice statement from our hated rivals.

yeah jeez on second page, few had no class, including one who wished that happened to Schilling instead, wow ok dude, heres another one that is igonarant to say.

i hope he gets better, but people, this is not a Yankees topic.

utilize the other forums. you are clogging the Yankee forum with topics that are best suited elsewhere

Of course; this doesn't even need to be said, that everyone's wishes are with Matt. No fan of baseball just in general would ever want to see a player injured like that.

Thoughts and prayers are with Matt, his family and friends, Red Sox teammates, organization, and fans as he will hopefully make a speedy and full recovey. :)

here here, if it were to happen to a yankee pitcher. i wouldnt be happy at all about, i may from generations passed down on me have this rival energy against the yankees, but I never in my mind would wish physical harm against them. Matt and Trot you get healthy, all pulling for your recovery. Your boys had won that game for you two in what was the most inspiring victory by far for the Red Sox of 2005.

this should have happened to someone like schilling, i.e., a truly despicable excuse for a 'human being', not clement, a poor schmo fresh off the cubbies.

Class indeed. Christ, some yankee fans are scum.

I can guaratnee that NO ONE here who is a respected poster would say anything like this. We may hate A-Rod, but no one wants to see him get sent to the f***ing hospital.

turning point of last season was tek and arod fighting in fenway park--this could be the moment for the team to gather together and play their hearts out--very intriguin stat, in 2004 at 100 game mark Sox were 55-45, and were also 8 games behind the Yankees----in 2005, Sox are 55-45

*******S should have happened to somone like Schilling, we should get the entire Red Sox Nation to buy out the New York Yankees from Stienbriener and then make the team fold.

They really just turned back into thier normal selves after page 1, i was going to go off on a few of them but I might as well try not to get banned within my first 3 posts.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but fans owning a sports franchise isn't legal; Packers fans' stocks aren't worthy anything but a nice momento, and they can cash it in for $20 if they want.

Wow, buying the competition, sure sounds like a team I am quite familiar with.

And who would you guys feed on?

Edit: Don't judge all Yankee fans on several asshat comments. We all wish Matt the best.

i really think this could be a turning point in the season. a game that looked like tampa was going to win after clements injury, then they comeback and win with curt on the mound.. sounds good

It doesn't matter what team you root for.... I don't care if that was the Yankees on the hill in Tampa last night and Randy Johnson got hit in the head, there's no reason you shouldn't show some class and pray for the guy. I can't imagine what that must actually feel like & what his family is going through. Credit to Yankee fans for showing class.

Haha, a hostile takeover of the New York Yankees by pissed of Red Sox fans. Sounds interesting.

 I can see it now

*cut to news cast* We have an update on day 57 of the Hostage crisis at Yankee Stadium.

It appears the Red Sox rebels have agreed to let Brian Cashman go with out harm, under the reasoning that he is useless, he never makes any desicions, the rebels still refuse to release George Stienbriener, now to Bob with the weather.....

I'll definetely credit some of the Yankees fans -- the ones that actually showed class rather than ask why we didn't do the same for Wang or Pavano -- despite said players' injuries not even comparing to that of Clement. I was pleasantly suprised on occassion, over there. For instance, one thread titled "More good news about Clement" -- I half expected it to say "He goT Hitt in teh hed ROFLAMAO!!!" -- instead it was an update on how he was concious and aware of what was going on.

As for whether or not this may be a turning point -- I think it definetely is as even when we were down 2 heading into the 9th, there was no doubt in my mind that we'd win that game -- it's just the type of game that teams seem able to come together to win.

wow damn, what an *******...

I was flipping back and forth between the Sox and Yankees, and when I turned it on the Boston game and saw Clement on the ground, my first response was "good." Yeah, when he wasn't moving and all I felt a little bad for saying it. But now that I hear he's OK and saying he's gonna make his next start, I go back to my initial impression. Besides, the dude looks like an elf on crack. And Pavano, though his pitching leaves a lot to be desired, never hit the dirt and acted like a ######. He took it like a man. Sc*rew you, Matt Clement.

Ill give credit to some as well. Not all of them showed class, page one was good, but from then it was MOSTLY awful. Seriously, that NoMoreWeaver guy made me want to puke :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown No wonder we have so many Yankee fans here (ones who actually have a soul as one poster there said), it was quite gross.

probably not because he's an actress who fakes things.. it's like the boy who cried wolf...

From the Yes Boards

Right because we put fake blood on his ankle and stuff, and he decided that while making a play against the angels in the playoffs he'd pretend to twist his ankle. God I had stupid Yankee fans just saying stupid things. And if you're going to tell me that you wouldn't feel sorry if a guy who gets hit in the head because of something he's done in the past then you don't derseve to live.

Do you think that's their point behind this whole "primadonna, actor" thing? They can't POSSIBLY be dumb enough to believe that there was some sort of sox-wide conspiracy in which Schiling faked injury in order to come across as a touhg guy.

That's almost as ludicrous as A-Rod thinking the slap was a "good play!" Oh, wait...

sounds like somebody is mad that we got clement 10-3 and they signed pavano who i believe still has a losing record

Ok you guys, the Yankee fans on this board get it, there are some real pricks in our fanbase. :thumbdown Then why still go over there and browse those infuriating messages? I could find you a dozen of other Yanks boards that have left pages of well-wishes for Matt, ones that rival the sappy card you signed in fifth grade when the star soccer player broke his arm - and some cellophane flowers.

I say this because it seems that by going over to the YES Boards it makes you look like you are hell-bent on showing that NYY fans are disgraceful jerks - and by my definition anyone who's a fan of this organization must show class that for decades the Yankees have epitomized.

But most importantly, it detracts from the original intent of the first message (posted by none other than yankeessuck013), that the true Yankee fans see through any barriers in team colors, and keep Matt in our thoughts and prayers. :)

DO I NEED TO CLARIFY FURTHER?!

Thanks.
