ex new yorker now passionate sox fan

My wife and I moved here the night before the 1999 all-star game at Fenway.

The conversion surprised me. I knew i was hooked in '02 when i couldn't decide who to root for when the sox played the yanks..and then i was heartbroken in '03 thanks to Boone. My father grew up near yankee stadium--was born the same year it opened--used to jump on the backs of babe ruth and lou gehrig after ball games. His reaction to my new team? 'Whatever makes you happy".

Anyway, i am happy for the long-suffering fans in new england. A fun time to be here for sports!

welcome to the site, I currently live in NY (syracuse) and it could be worse (like living in the bronx) but I plan on going to college out of the state (hopefully mich. st) and then moving somewhere after maybe down south, or boston...we'll see!

I dont know how anyone could possibly root for the Yankees anyhow. Imagine having to choose between rooting for the Mets or rooting for the Yankees!!?!? That's like choosing between an ulcer or a migraine....both truly are painful to deal with!
