Red Sox look to start rolling

Boston (54-44) at Tampa Bay (35-64), 7:15 p.m. ET

Left-hander David Wells, who has been Boston's most consistent pitcher since late May, will try to get the Red Sox off to a good start in their three-game series at Tropicana Field against the Devil Rays.

Wells is 6-1 with a 3.36 ERA over his last 10 starts and posted a solid 9-4 win over the Devil Rays last week.

Though the Devil Rays are 19 1/2 games behind the Red Sox in the American League East, they were able to take two out of three back in April, when Boston made its last visit to Tropicana Field.

The Red Sox split four games with the White Sox over the weekend, culminating with a 6-4 loss on Sunday.

im looking towards Sox get better at better baserunning decisions and not leaving that much runners on. So far this season the Red Sox have left 778 total runners on base thru the first 98 games, averaging 8 each game.

The Red Sox will look to get on the right foot when they come in Topicana Field, last time being there was the battle of hitting batters when Tampa's picther did the dumbest thing you can ever do, get Big Papi mad. Red Sox's David Wells will make his second consecutive start against the D-Rays, who surprisingly enough have won 7 out of their last 10 including sweeping the Orioles who are getting Javy Lopez back tonight. Wells enjoys pitching against them, in 16 games he has a 10-1 record with a niice 2.52 ERA. Tampa counters with Dough Waechter just activated off of the DL and has 3-6 record for 2005 and a 5.55 ERA. His career vs Boston in 3 games, a 1-0 record with 5.54 ERA

Wow, 0-2 to Huff after runners on corners with 0 outs, lets go Boomer get him out!!!

1-2 to Huff with 2 outs. Boomer's fought his way back into this.
