I bet you by 2024 there's a new Fenway.

You are the definition of a simpleton. As long as your distracted with the Circus Maximus and the Hippodrome and there's no short of control you're willing to cede.

JWH can build Fenway Park out of his own pocket.

Sooner than that. I think Fenway's 100 year anniversary is 2012' date=' they'll let it stand till then for sure. I'd be surprised if a new stadium isn't at least in the works by 2012.[/quote']

Hmm. I was thinking since 2012 is the century mark for the park, and with that year's All Star game and a WS win :D, that people may want to keep Fenway. After that I'd give it 5 years out of respect or until they can get the fans on board to build a new Fenway. So that's 2017. Then it takes years to get the funding/government s*** together. So I figured an eye on 2024 was good since it would be the 20th anniversary of 2004.

But you know what, it wouldn't surprise me if they sell this whole thing before that choice is made. I really don't see John Henry around in 2024 anyway.

Why's that?

It's time for Fenway to go. The Sox need a new stadium and more seating to increase their revenue stream.

so how much longer until that place reeks of piss?

A buddy of mine had season tickets in the cesspool known as Yankee Stadium and I went to at least one game a year for a number of years. For 3 years straight there was the same blob of no one knows what on a wall...looked like a combo of cranberry sauce, s***, and cat hair...the f***ers refused to clean it up, and it haunts me to this day.

Yeah I know, Yank fans...it's part of the history and nostalgia of the toilet.

The Yankees are building a new stadium?

Of course. How else could we have afforded 1 million more a year than what you offered Teixeira????

That doesn't fly at all here, GOM. I think it did for a few days and perhaps there may be several "sticks in the mud" who still think that the Sox lost out because of an unwillingness to pay $1m - $2m more per year than they offered. I believe (hope?) that the bulk of Sox fans realize the guy wasn't coming here for the amount that the Yanks offered.

He did not want to play in Boston, and any successful attempt by the Sox to acquire him would likely have cost much, much more than the target the Sox had set and the amount the Yanks paid.

You know this, despite your playing it off that the Sox just needed to give a little more to get Tex.

Just saw this today, the list of concessions available at the new Stadium. I dont think it's a full complete list, but there's a lot of s*** on here. Btw, for those of you not familiar, there's NOTHING in the world like a sandwich from Mike's Deli on Arthur Ave in the Bronx. A few years ago when they put a stand in Yankee Stadium I was THRILLED. guranf***ingtee that s*** runs you at least 10-15 bucks. It's not worth it to buy anything more than a hot dog and soda/beer at yankee stadium.

Wow! Such an abundance of gastronomic choices, and to think that two blocks away from the stadium you can get killed for your sneakers.

It's not as bad as it used to be. I've walked around the stadium a few times when early for a game. Definitely was not a place I'd want to spend much time in but just walking through wasn't too bad.

You *******. I just read that damn menu while I have massive munchies. Ohhhh Mary Jane....

you know that's true right? Smoking doesn't make you hungry. You just feel hungry because of what you've been told.
