Dumb question. I can't believe you guys even dignified this with a response.

A homegrown player is a player who is drafted, and groomed within the ranks of your minor league system. He also can't play for another club. Last time I checked Hansen met all these reqirements.

Those are players in the minor leagues that haven't reached the big league club.

Homegrown talent right now:

H.Ramirez

C.Hansen

J.Papelbon

M.Delcarmen

K.Youkilis

T.Nixon

K.Shoppach

not all those players are active right now, he was talking about players on the active roster.

Sean Henn says, "Hi".

so does Philip Hughes.

And Also Mo said to say hello as well.

Dumb Question? Im sorry you feel that way, I was just curious as to what you guys thought about the matter.

And while I agree with your definition, I dont believe it is in the official Major League Baseball Dictionary, so people could perceive it different ways.

I think not, maybe just rented. Because starting and relieving are two completely different things, and last time I checked Henn has more innings because he started all of his games, DiNardo however did not. So I dont think its a fair comparrison of stats. Its like trying to compare Clemens' and Rivera's stats to determine who the best overall pitcher is.

and I will believe the hype regarding all of your prospects when I see it. So far, havent seen much from most of them. (though Papelbon I think has been pretty good, but please, lets not talk about the Moss' and Pedroia's Lester's and Ellesbury's of the world)

Papelbon > Wang

Why does he suck?

He hit .240 as a 22 year old in Single A. With such a poor showing, he'll repeat the level. If he doesn't show any improvements from his wrist injury he'll never make it to Boston or even Pawtucket for that matter.

We got more than enough homegrown coming who will contribute. Hanley at 2nd/cf/3rd, Pedroia somewhere, Lester, Papy, Delcarmen, Hansen, and Sanchez all going somehwere in our pitching staff. Then we got some hard throwing studs in Lowell.
