youkilis, we will miss ya. to make way for curt and new guy chad, sox have sent youkilis and pitcher scott cassidy back to pawtucket. id rather have the sox send embree instead of youk though. :dunno:

The Red Sox have gone BACK to carrying 12 pitchers, hence sending Youkilis instead of Gonzalez or Halama to AAA.

 

They must be confident that Cora can play third, because without Youkilis that's the only other option. Not that Mueller should need a day off after getting 3 in a row, but there's always the chance of injury... seems risky to me.

 

That being said the bullpen needs a lot of help-- especially with the two new guys (Schilling and Bradford) coming off of injuries, they probably won't be as durable as they otherwise would be.

Wrong. Kapler only had 19 in 2004. In 2003, he wore 29, he switched to 19 after the Red Sox signed Keith Foulke.

Sure he has his faults, such as swinging at first pitches and not hitting breaking balls, but he does have speed and more power than Adam Stern.

maybe being in japan helped his hitting the breaking ball,but in any event hes a great guy to have in the stretch,feisty and aggresive like trot
