Gabe. Wow. He is like... the man. His swing is so wierd. I dont care how good or bad he is, hes a good guy in the clubhouse and we need a guy like him who can come in and play some good defense and get us some hits. Gabe is a pimp.

Theo has to keep Stern on the 40 man roster or send him back to Atlanta. I like Super Jew coming back, but in the long run Stern can turn into a good player and needs to keep a spot on the roster.

well actually sizzlin, johhny who is 9 for 10 stolen bases attempts, edgar is just behind at 8 for 9 stolen base attempts--i very much agree stern could be our next damon

I know we HAVE stolen bases we just don't do it very often, we don't have that guy who can consistantly steal a base or two.

Add me to the list of people who would welcome Gabe back with open arms. He was great for the team last year and would be great again. No, he's no superstar, but with great defense, good speed and a decent bat he's the perfect 4th outfielder.

I think we could keep both Kapler and Stern on the roster. We had Kapler and Roberts at the same time last year..... They serve completetly different purposes and should both be on the team.

I like the thought of this a lot.

Quotes from Kapler in early June

''Jason Varitek left me a message in which he played a song we'd sung a lot on the plane, and it literally had me in tears," Kapler said. ''I spend time learning about what is happening [with the Sox]. I knew Kevin [Millar] was struggling, [i wanted] to give him a hug to help him through the situation. Varitek, Johnny [Damon], I wanted to tell them how happy I am for them, the way they're playing. [Doug] Mirabelli, Trot [Nixon], [Curt] Schilling, all those guys, I miss them a lot."

Kapler has heard about Nixon's knee injury, and his declaration that he will need surgery after the season. Could Kapler possibly make his way back to Boston?

He's not thinking in those terms, he said.

''I don't doubt for one second that Trot will be on the field for the entire season," he said. ''What Trot plays through would be other players' nightmares. He's one of the toughest players I've ever met in my life."

But of this, you can be sure: ''I'm coming back [to the big leagues] next season," Kapler said.

i read a report that the yomiuri giants have placed on waivers and that the sox will of course get him back right away. however theyre plan might have him to be on the minors roster for rest of the season. considering if they send adam stern back to pawtucket, very big chance atlanta can easily sign him to be a brave.

the waivers end july 15th..so if he clears he will be free to sign with anyone..

I hope he comes back, you can never ever underestimate the value of the mccarty's, kaplers and dougie's of the world..

I don't see Stern hitting .320 in a season.

he just friggin started in the major league with his first ever game being called over to baltimore last week, you do know that right?? he wasnt able to show off what he has for batting since he got the call just hours before the game had started and not much time to meet with his new teammates and get ready before the game. he is one of the hot prospects sox have had for a bit

I can't see Sterns hitting .125 let alone .320 .

Typical ignorant average fan, the guy was called up for the first time you expect him to start hitting .300 against majors pitching? For all we know the guy could hit .350 in a season.
