I just got done reading an article on ESPN.COM about how baseball would profit from having instant replay. I have to say that I am a supporter for this. The idea is to use the cameras in the ball park, "not to second guess the umpires, but to help them".

The instant replay would have areas that it couldnt touch though, such as the strike zone.

The four main areas of concern for the replay would be:

1. Safe or Out - Let's face it there have been some HUGE blunders in umpiring in this area.

(I added in Safe or Out. The following three were ESPN's choices)

2. Home Run (Over the wall or on top of the wall)

3. Fair Ball or Foul

4. Fan Interfearance

These things are cut and dry for the most part, "where the camera never lies". Baseball is already slow. It is not like you would be slowing the game down much.

I just wanted to get you guys and gals opinion on this one. I am all for it as long as it makes the game better.

Hope to get a good turn out for this one.

Yeah... instant replay wont work. Games are already 3-4 hours, and if it was to be five or six I would go and shoot myself. It also would take away from the excitement of the umpires. The human error is what makes this game of baseball so unique from the others. The only way I would support cameras if it would be like... game winning/tying plays, kind of like in basketball where they only review things at the buzzer. But in no way would I support it if it was in the middle of a game, but if it was at the end in a game winning/tying situation, I probably would.

He does. He might be quiet, and not a bitch to the media. He might be "hott" (I cant believe I just said that, and I dont think they way you do, haha). But he wastes way too many outs and baserunners with his Ks.

oh i know, like did anyone see how safe by a mile was ortiz at first base. feel bad for him cuz you could see he was tearing it up to get there, with his teeth showing and all.

He is hot. Haha. And he doesn't run his mouth. And he tries his hardest up there dammit.

Awww isn't that cute.......Mark Bellhorn tries his hardest, so lay off him you meanies! BTW, since when was there an "Effort Award" in MLB just like in little league......oh yeah, there isn't.

Oh God.

I know you staunchly support him, but if you don't want to hear it, don't mention him in every stinking thread, no matter what the subject.

Bellhorns been better then mueller this year. Just think about it. WOuld you rather ground out 3 times or hit a double and get k'd twice.

Since when is over 50 batting average points worse?

Don't forget the 50 OBP points and 40 SLG points.

It would be nice for the game... but everyone else is right, it would take too much time and slow down the game even more.

I was behind the Sox dugout along with tons of other Sox fans and Bellhorn just passed us up! What's up with that? Actually, I'm just kidding... it was actually like 95 degrees outside and a majority of the Sox were taking BP inside so it's explainable why he was headed inside.
