Well the Red-hot Sox come back to home after sweeping the road trip, first time since 1977 for that matter. And who better to face, but the Cleveland Guardians who our boys fought valiantly to sweep them. Bronson Arroyo will again face off again Milwood. Lets be hoping Bronson brings his A-game like last one posting a 1.29 ERA for the 7 innings he performed solidly. As for Milwood's 7.5 ERA last time out--bosox got to them early as they tend to do, he lasted 6 innings giving up 7 hits, 6 runs which included 2 homeruns... As far as I know lineup will return to normal as follows

1. Johnny Damon

2. Edgar Renterria

3. David Ortiz

4. Manny Ramirez

5. Kevin Millar

6. Jason Varitek

7. Trot Nixon

8. Bill Mueller

9. Mark Bellhorn

Ok, O's are facing the Yankees tonight. But, we pretty much want the Yankees to win, which is going to be kind of messed up rooting for them. I dont know how I will do it.

nah, i'll root for the o's because the yankees could get hot anytime, and the orioles can't keep it up all season, the yankees could

very much better situation with orioles and us up at first place with yanks up to 10 1/2 games, its possible--true yanks are due any time to just erupt into wins, we need 10 or more games ahead of them to have breathring room truely

I came on here today hoping someone would be discussing this, and I am not disappointed. So this is why we discuss this stuff so often, and think about this stuff so much. I think its still early enough in the season for us to worry about the Yankees because they're the Yankees, not because of the standings. If this game is in August or September, then I'm rooting for the Yankees. But for this series, I would love it if the sox could keep winning, the Orioles take 2 of 3 and we pick up 2 games on the Yanks, one on the O's. It might be wishful thinking, but I just want the Yankees to be at the bottom of the pile before we turn our attention solely to the Birds.

What the hell, Blowhorn? I'm going to break something because of you and your damn error that left the Red Sox down 3-0 instead of knotted at zero. Jesus, your crap gets old.

This isn't really me (I swore off criticizing Bellhorn for three weeks when he had the big offensive production in game 3 against the Phils), but...........BELLHORN YOU SUCK!

something about bellhorn is that he will occasionally have these big hit days, but guess what happens the next series of games, he strikes out and makes errors, sure he gets walks but dont ammount to much most of the time

He swings over the ball and recently isn't playing the hottest on defense. We surely aren't the Yankees money wise, but we're not poor either... for us to have a 2B that Ks very often and is hitting I believe .228 just isn't acceptable.

Final lines & thoughts on this game before we put it to rest:

Cleveland Guardians IP H R ER SO/BB HR BF G/F PC GSc
06/27 B.Arroyo..... 6.2 6 7 5 4/3 2 30 6/9 107 39 L
06/27 J.Halama..... 2.1 2 0 0 3/1 0 11 2/2 42 -

It was definitely a different outing compared to last time out when Bronson pitched in Cleveland. In that game he only allowed 4 hits and 1 run. This time, well, when it came down to it, the 2 HR and two extra walks compared to last time were key. Halama wasn't perfect either, but it was definitely an improvement from his outing on 6/21 in Cleveland when he gave up 3 hits and 1 ER in 1 IP.

Wade Miller is on the mound for us today but just to mention, during his last outing against Cleveland (6/22), Miller went 5 IP giving up 1 ER (2 R) with 4 K and 3 BB. He finished the game with a n/d after Embree gave up 2 ER.
