Olerud or Millar?

If you don't use him at all then he will never get hot. He's the ultimate test of patience (sp?) and loyalty you need to let him play through the rough times to get the truely great times.

Kevin Millar is hitting .248/.297/.299 without a homer on the road this season. There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that we need to get this guy off of the field.

I agree with Zenny 100% here. Kevin Millar is just below average in every facet of the game.

 

Personally, I'd like to see Youkilis get more playing time. Good things seem to happen when he's in the lineup.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I'd try to play Youks at a combination of 1st and 2nd while giving Millar, Bellhorn and Olerud nights off every once in a while. Ultimately I'd like to see Youks as a 1B in place of Millar, but then I'd have no idea what to do with Olerud. But I think we should try to get Youks in the lineup as much as possible, but not at the expense of Mueller at 3rd.

I love Youk just because when he hits the ball god damn he hits it HARD. I agree Youk should be in the lineup more often but I still am waiting for the Kevin Millar 2-3 week streak of invincibility.

Just bringing up something I noticed. Millar is starting to heat up, and he knows that he is starting to heat One thing I noticed is that his "bat waggle" is more pronounced, a lot larger and quicker. Maybe it's a confidence thing I don't know but watch him you'll notice the difference.

I agree, Youk NEEDS MORE PLAYING TIME. Just take that last game against the Cubs, a couple of hits, including the homer that got it all started. In his limited time he's batting over .300 and has made a few nice playis in the field as well. Some rotation between him, Millar, Olerud, Bellhorn and Mueller is needed to get him more time. Another crazy idea, try him at second. Nothing against Bellhorn, but Youkilis is another guy who can work pitch counts and draw walks, but he can also get a hit more than every now and then. This kid has done nothing but impress and work his arse off since coming here, the least the Sox could do is give him a chance to prove his worth.

Get rid of Bellhorn, put Mueller on second where he used to be, and put Youk on third. Put Olerud on first and use Millar like theyve been using Olerud.

Hey, I think that they should play youkilis alot more. He has good skills at a young age. Mark Bellhorn shouldn't play. He hasn't done much more then a couple of clutch hits last year.

Really? He's 2nd in FP for AL 2nd basemen, and also turns a great double play. Besides who else is there? Ramon Vazquez? Youkillis can't play 2nd, Mueller can't because of his knees, and Pedrioa doesn't need to be rushed.

 

Remember, offense isn't the problem with this team, it's the bullpen.

Anyways. Olerud is amazing. But Millar is good, too. So I can't choose. Just leave it as it is.

No, our 1st baseman is Millar, it has been and should be through the entire season. Olerud is an older guy, and probably couldn't play everyday.

 

And would these BENCH BELLHORN, and TRADE MILLAR guys shut up, were 2 games up in the WC so calm down.
