I was watching sports desk and there was a quote by johnny damon that said the sox aren't playing like they used to. He also said we need more deperation. With the curse over, it feels like there is nothing else to prove. Any thoughts?

I take everything back everything nice I ever said about embree.

you knuckle heads can say whatever you wont and throw around any of your stats. they guy is worthless and sucks. Franocna misuses him, granted, but he f***ing sucks..

Talk about lack of desperation, the complacency can be found on the field and in the stands--you and your free passes, and non-booing. Saying that to boo and to point out bad play is being like a spoiled yankee fan. I cant believe that. I like winning and like the sox to play well. Come on poeple we got to get this moving. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Let's play champs and stop this skid. TODAY...

13 LOB, Embree left in to face Sheffield, "Wave 'Em Home" Sveum. It seems the only ones desperate are the fans.

I believe we did last night. I guess he's figured out that learning to get him and take it like a man is just part of the game.

They didnt throw at A-Rod last nite. After wakefield hit a-rod you could see his frustration for putting him on base. I dont think any of the yankees are scared of a 68 mph knuckle ball or a 78 mph fastball. LOL Johnson would have retaliated with a 95 mph fastball to manny, ortiz, or damon if the yankees thought it was on purpose. Mussina and Rivera won't retaliate but Johnson, Sturtze, Quantrill will.

It was a joke but whatever I don't worry too much about that game obviously it's frustrating but I slept pretty well knowing we should have won that game very frustrating but not something to be overly worried about (outside of Embree).

Clement hit jeter today. If you were watching fox you would have saw him strain when they were taking out pavano.

I'm not knocking him but Manny got drilled more than anyone this year you including in the head you don't see him bitching about it.

It's Jeter, though. We shouldn't expect much from him, and we especially shouldn't compare him toughness wise to Manny. I didn't see him get hit originally, but when I saw the highlight it didn't seem like it was any different from any other time he's gotten hit. I guess the location where he got hit is the main reason he might had said something later.

Jeter seems to be a small guy. Not really muscled up like manny, and someone who takes a hit who has alot of muscle won't feel it as well as someone whos skinny or fat. but i have been hit in the head before by my dad with a baseball playing catch and it hurt like hell, and he doesn't throw hard. actually kinda funny. I want to see someone get beaned tonight by wells.

I wonder if they yankees will try to retalliate for Jeter getting hit yesterday. I doubt it was on purpose, but its a well known fact that these teams aren't exactly friends. If they hit us, do you think Wells would throw at some of his old buddies?

I was watching Baseball Tonight last night and they made it sound like it was on purpose. To me, it does look like it was. The pitch doesn't look like it just got away. I think it was on purpose.

Oh, I was reading this. Red Sox backup catcher Kelly Shoppach on getting hit in yesterday's game:

Thanks to the Sox blowing out the Yankees on Saturday, Shoppach was able to get his feet wet, catching three innings and getting hit by a pitch in his first Major League at-bat.

Shoppach didn't mind getting hit in his introduction to the Majors.

"It's really not that bad of a deal. You get a chance to run and get in the flow and be out there on base and it lets you relax for your next at-bat," said Shoppach.

Wells hitting a Yankee would be the best thing ever. YOu have to admit, Wells hitting someone Like Tino Martinez or Derek Jeter would be funny. Hitting someone he played with would be great, and then a big fight breaks out. Hitting some new yankee loser would be the same old crap though
