None other than Mariano Rivera of the New York Yankees!!! Seems like Mariano has a little bit of a hangup with the Bo Sox. Torre should just start letting Tom Gordon close against them.

Actuall if Iwere the Yankees I would give Gordon a try even though I don't think he's any good agianst us either.... anyone know Gordons ERA against the Sox.

Last year, Tom Gordon threw 13 1/3 innings against us, striking out 14 and had a 2.03 ERA. He had a 3-1 record. I say they leave Rivera in. He had a 4.22 ERA against us.

You know, Rivera is a great pitcher but some of that has to do with being a closer. Hitters do not see him that often and never get the chance to adjust to what he is throwing. This is an advantage that, with enough time and tape, diminishes and actually works against the closer as he has to adjust his stuff against hitters.

 

I think the Sox have him figured out, and other teams are going to as well.
