I like it alot. Neal had a 1.86 ERA in the PCL this year. He's big, throws hard. He's only 26, and had a career 2.61 ERA in the minors.

If Bung-Hole Kimberly sucks it up or Matt "DL" Mantei gets hurt, Blaine is the first one up from Pawtucket. I think he's a younger version of Mike Timlin waiting to happen. I like this trade a lot.

Blaine Neal is out of options so he better make the roster coming out of spring traning or he's gone.

Poor Adam Hyzdu. He's getting old and he's been on the Sox for a while. He's always on Pawtucket and he'll play a few games up in the big leagues. He's never really been on them though. Poor guy.

Yeah I feel real bad for him. All he got to do was hang around the World Champs during the playoffs, got to run out on to the field for the celebrations, ride in the parade, get a World Series ring. Tough Life.

 

Anyways, it's not like he was going to get any playing time here. Better for him to battle for a job on San Diego and be called up if someone goes down, than to be stuck on Pawtucket and likely not be called up until September.

he was ok. I always liked him because he signed an autograph for me at a game. He hits a lot of home runs.

I like it especially because I don't trust our pen that much this year Timlins getting on in years and I HATE Kim with a passion so if all else fails he's a good pick up.

Hey, I heard Kim has a hang-nail... someone put him on the DL! Anastacio Martinez is out of options too. It doesn't look like he's going to amount to much, though, which is unfortunate. If he could get consistent with his curve and change, he'd be deadly.

Well the way Anastacio's been pitchin this spring, it is unlikely anyone will pick him up off waivers. He has improved in the last couple of outings though, which Red Sox management may not like because it makes him more likely to be picked up.

Neal made the roster, but once Schill is activated in a few weeks, Neal will probably have to go down, but clear waivers first. He may not clear.
