    Neal made the roster, but once Schill is activated in a few weeks, Neal will probably have to go down, but clear waivers first. He may not clear.

    The home opener is the 11th, so Schill won't start that one. But its still great that he'll be healthy enough to get in there shut down the MFY.

    Disregarding the guys we'd have to resign, the guy I most want is (besides Beltran, too) Carl Pavano. He says he's interested in signing here, too.

    What can you expect out of FOX? McCarver was especially unbareable last night. But, the whole winning the World Series thing made it somewhat enjoyable.

    I've checked all over the place for another link, as I was ready to write something about it for another website. I can't find it anywhere else. If anything happens -- http://www.rotoworld.com would usually have it. They didn't have anything on Damon to the DL.

    No. No replay. I don't consider myself a baseball purist, but I'm against replay. The damn umps should be able to make calls like the Roberts Tag B.S. on their own. If you want to give a team one replay challenge per season -- go ahead. That'd make it pretty tough to decide when to use it. Other than that, I don't want a replay challenge every few games.

    Can't be 6-4 ... we've played 13 games thus far. 8-5 is our record vs NYY I think.

    I definetly agree. A gem from Schill tonight would set the tone for the series. A sweep would not be out of the question -- would be tough -- but with this team, at home, anything can happen.

    Facing ... Josh Stewart. This has to be a win today. Inexperienced lefty going up against Manny, Millar, Varitek ... he's done. SUMMON THE FIRE! (hey, we're 8-2 since a guy on the .406 forums decided to come up with that cheesy phrase)

    I'd love to see Catalanatto on the Sox, he isn't a great fielder, but he's a great player for his salary. Good value.

    I don't think they'll fire Francona. It would make them look bad. They just hired the guy.

    I hate off-days. But I hope this time enables Dale Sveum to learn how to coach 3rd base.

    Halama is a solid pitcher, nothing special. In 5 starts in July, he had 28 IP, allowed 18 ER ... but 9 of them in one terrible start. Pitched 8.0 shut out innings on July 16, allowing 3 hits and no walks to go along with 3 K's against Baltimore. Impressive. Followed that up with a 3.2 IP, 9 ER performance. Not so impressive ...

    I'm 16 and I never went through a phase of liking wrestling. I think I've only watched it once, I was flipping through the channels and I saw a nice rack so I decided to view for a few moments.

    Its been said that our guys in the front office aren't a fan of Benson ... I'm a fan of his wife, though.

    Avg vs LHP this year: .111 Avg vs LHP last year: .219 Avg vs LHP in career: .214 I doubt he improves much ... he's 30. He's a great hitter vs RHP ... but he can't hit LHP.

    No ... Ortiz is one of the worst defensive 1B in baseball ... he's a DH and nothing more. Play Kapler in RF vs LHP, and in LF for the games that Ortiz is suspended (Manny DH).

    Gutierrez is junk. He's slow, has no range or pop ... he won't be productive.
