Better Starter

Who in your opinion, because of the Schilling problem, should be starting opening day because he is the better pitcher?

 

I was having a little conflict about this at school and wanted to find what you thought was right...

I voted Wells. He's a seasoned vet, he's no stranger to the New York/Boston rivalry. He's just more proven than Clement or Miller in my opinion.

 

I'm going on the assumption that opening day is against New York, because I THINK I read that somewhere.

Wells beating the Yankees would be sweet!

I said Wells, partially because I have tickets to the second game, and I dont want to see Wells pitch, I'd rather see one of our other new acquisitions. But he could certainly beat whoever the yankees throw at him (it may or may not be Johnson), and as people have said, he's experienced enough to know what the game means and to handle himself correctly.

 

Plus, since it would be opening day, he'd know enough to not get drunk.

I like Miller more than Wells, because it gives a good barometer to see not only how Millers shoulder looks after the off season, but also how he handles himself in the big games. Plus a 93 Miller fastball is much more enjoyable than watching Wells pitch through his hang over.

wells...will get the call, or at least that's what I voted for.

 

If it's against new york nothing would be more entertaining than watching him whiff A-Fraud.
