Pitcher's stats are regular season.

I feel as if we'll hit Morris hard. Schilling will definitely work off of the energy of the Fenway crowd. I really can't see him pitching anything but a good game today. It should be fun to watch.

don't less the numbers fool you. morris is a good pitcher and i feel that he will step up. personally it's either going to be a great outing or a really poor outing for morris. schilling will get hit, no doubt about it, but it won't be terrible. he'll make it through 6 imo.

manny is definately due for a big game.

until game 4 of the alcs it didnt seem like they wanted it at all. now that they find themselves up 1-0, i think they proved to themselves that they can do it. let me tell u, working back from an 0-3 hole in the alcs and suddenly being up 1-0 in the world series would sure bring up my confidence.

It should show how much our guys want this.

Or how ridiculously good this team is.

Sox hitters are on a roll and they need to keep it going. They need to be patient with Morris, lay off his curve ball outside the striek zone and make him pitch behind in the count. Morris has had an up and down year, and maybe the miserable conditions at Fenway will affect him.

Who knows what to expect with Schilling. ESPN Radio says there are rumors he won't be able to pitch tonight or won't be available the rest of the series or he is just fine. I do expect him to get jacked up by the Fenway crowd who will wave their bloody rally sox.

GO SOX!!!!

Very tough hop on Mueller. All things considered Curt did a great job getting Rolen and Edmonds after the Pujols double. 2-1, let's get some runs.

Um, guys.... are you really serious about wanting a Game 6 just so you can go? I mean, yes, WS tix in Fenway -- that is pretty awesome. But at this point (assuming Foulke holds our 4-run lead in the 9th) I'm shooting for there being no Game 5. St. Louis is obviously very tough at home, but right now we are hitting up and down the lineup, and you can't help but notice that we have Petey (who is not a bad pitcher :) ) and Lowe (who looked fabulous against the loaded NYY lineup in the Bronx) up in Games 3 and 4. Just to warn off the Unfounded Hopes Police, I'll say that, no, I am not predicting a sweep. But I also wouldn't wish for a Game 6 at this point.

On the other hand, being there when the Sox win the Series (hypothetically, hypothetically...) would be pretty excellent. Talk about a story for your grandkids!

Heck yeah.

Two beautiful things about this game:

1) Two-out hitting. I mentioned it in a long-ago post, and we saw it again tonight.

2) Who had the big hits? Tek, Bellhorn, Cabrera. Our big guns don't have to hit in order for us to win (OK, Tek is a fairly big gun, but you wouldn't call these three guys the guts of our lineup).

And a third one thrown in as a freebie:

3) Some dang fine pitching. Dang fine.

OK, there were ugly moments again, but we clearly stack up well against the Cards. We just look a lot looser (no surprise there). We'll see how we do in St. Louis, but I'm not too anxious about that. If we can go to the Bronx and win 2, we're not going to be wigged out by the fans in St. Louis.

I'm liking it.

yeah..

good things: great two out hitting.

looks like the ankle isnt bothering schilling.

manny didnt make an error!

bad things: mueller....nuff said

if there are going to be E's in a game and we come out on top every time. i dont care what happens if we dont, but ill take the e's with guaranteed wins. the way we play right now it doesnt look like the e's are bothering us. just keep playing however we are and we should be fine.

I've seen Mueller get handcuffed by groundballs before but never like this. I think the Sox were lucky and good tonight by giving away outs and still holding a lead.

On top of that Nixon and Millar are not having good at bats and Manny looks tired, but this team pulls it together with some very clutch hitting. Foulke seems really "locked in" nailing down 5 and 6 outs. I expected a short series and I say end it in St. Louis.
