  1. In the words of the sports guy, that was a Man Ram...
  2. WOW talk about eating my own words. Still, I'm optimistic.
  3. Moose is looking absolutely human. It's weird, but there's a completely different atmosphere at the park today. The sox have proved that they're able to beat the yankees, and they come into the game with that confidence. Results? A solid inning from a sox starter (which hasn't happened all series, come on, when was the last time that an inning clearly favored the sox over the yankees) and the sox batters getting to Mussina early. With both bullpens tired, this will be a battle of the starters, and I, for one, am optimistic.
  4. what the hell, you're not going to pick me anyway, so what's the harm in entering?
  5. No, it's actually a Red Sox. At least that's how the globe spells it.
  6. how about, From B down to A, Bucky F--- Dent and Aaron F---- Boone
  7. Upside to Reese: Even if the ball goes into the sun, he'll still run and catch it. Downside: He won't hit his weight. In fact, he has a very valid chance of hitting .000.
  8. I wasn't taking away from his pitching, which is amazing. Obviously if we traded him our pitching would be weaker, but we could get some really quality pitching right now and some good prospects for later. As for the whole "I hate ________ argument", whatever. I'm not jumping on any bandwagon or coming out and saying "I hate Pedro." Maybe the whiny bitch comment was a bit strong. What i'm saying is that we could get quality and improve the team as a whole in the long run. I'm not saying we're going to, or even if I would. The point is that even though Pedro has great stuff, he's injury prone, he could cause a major problem in the clubhouse, and he has great trade value right now. And Francona isn't afraid to lay down the law. He wanted to suspend Abreu for the remainder of the season because he was late 3 times (granted, there were like 10 games left and the Phillies were a gagillion games out of 1st place). Don't expect Pedro to walk all over Francona, but expect there to be problems.
  9. An unlikely situation, but bear me out... Pedro's trade value is about as high as it will be all season. He's already caused a problem in a clubhouse were many players were quoted as saying "[Francona] will never be tested or taken advantage of." We already have an ace in Schilling, and his performance tonight (6 innings, 1 run, 1 walk, 7k's) makes him look pretty damn good. With 5 contracts open at the end of the year, it doesn't look likely that we'll sign all of them. Thus, we need some new talent to plug the gap. The anti-Pedro sentiment in Sox Nation is at an all time high, and things can only escalate. Pedro's a whiny little bitch. You make the call, personally, I wouldn't be surprised to see him traded by July.
  10. Kapler is a BEAST! He's reached base all 3 times tonight. How you say... jews rule?
  11. I'm watching NESN, but from what i've heard from the Rem-dog, i'd say that his fastball has been around 89-90, and has been capping out at about 92. That being said, his curveball has been REALLY loose, and he hasn't been able to hit many locations. You can chalk that up to the cold, so I'm not really that worried, but then again, Pedro should be hitting those spots.
  12. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKEFIELD!!!!! The knuckler is SO nasty, and because it puts so little strain on his arm, he could pitch forever! 20 year career anyone?
