Say hello to my little Frah...

Sox sweep! Sox sweep! This is the best Red Sox team I have ever seen, were lucky that little screw up in the 7th didn't extend the series though. Ah who cares...

BRING ON THE TWINS OR YANKEES!!!

Whoah. That was intense. I have to say that I feel mostly relief -- I was tight after that 7th inning. Excellent finish by Manny Ortez there (or was it David Ramiriz?).

What I really want to know is if anyone measured Glaus's job earlier in the game. That was the longest HR I have ever, ever seen. Someone in the Boston suburbs probably got a window smashed.

And, to state the obvious, Arroyo dominated the Angels in a way that would have been embarrassing to see if I were an Anaheim fan. As it was, it was a thing of utmost beauty. OK, one mistake to Glaus, true -- but he made the Angels look baaaad inning after inning. It's obvious that all the teams that are left are very very good (they're in the postseason for a reason) -- but does any other team really want to face Schilling, Martinez, and Arroyo? I know, I know, no team really wants to face Santana and Radke, either, or Oswalt and Clemens. But this Red Sox team is a buzzsaw right now. The Angels found that out last time they were in Fenway, and they found it out again tonight.

One rotation I'm not afraid of is the Yankees. But we'll just see how the chips fall.

Outstanding work in Round 1, boys. :)

And another random note: Golden Sombrero for Bellhorn. Yet he drew two walks and scored (twice?). Question: Why do people pitch around Bellhorn when it's so painfully clear that he's likely to strike out if you throw strikes? Again, I know, I know, it takes two to walk and Bellhorn deserves credit for his patience. But the fact remains that you don't get a BB unless the pitcher throws at least 4 balls out of the strike zone. There are some weird dynamics here. Let's assume Bellhorn has a great eye. That must mean that he's useless hitting for contact, since he essentially doesn't swing at balls but often misses strikes. Is he just stuck on swing-for-the-fences mode? Strange.

On the whole, though, I'll take 3 K's with 2 runs scored every game.

wow, notes that i have from game 3:

BRONSON MOTHER f***IGN ARROYO is the HERO of game 3, i don't care what anyone says. anyone can hit a pitch over the plate for a walk off home run. for that youngster to come up today and strike out 7 before 6 innings was absolutely amazing. he made the angels look absolutely silly.

tito made many good decisions tonight, not pinch running for ortiz. i felt taking bronson out was a good idea. he did his job, we were up 6-1, rest him for the alcs. i personally would have take timlin out against gurrero. i just had a bad feeling. but i guess baseball is about numbers, not feelings. timlin has been lights out and made on mistake at the worst time, we are all human.

keith foulke has balls, pitching very very well.

K-ROD is AMAZING, when is this guy a free agent. this guy is just amazing. i love k-rod. i don're care, he rocks.

man, i've lost 10 years of my life because of this game. the pitching int he 8th inning, top of the 9th.. ugh, my soal, brain, body aches so much. then the win. i drank my brains to oblivian when vlad hit that granny.

i can't even talk right now, i'll come back another day. i need to rest, this was just so amazing. we should all get together and watch game 1 of the alcs together.

The only part that worried me was the bullpen's shaky performance. Myers and Timlin defnitely did not get it done. They need to get it done for us to advance farther.

This game had me tied in knots. I was visiting my dad in the hospital and listened to Trup's call of Ortiz's HR on the radio. I'm glad I did, I'd rather have that memory than Berman's call.

As for the game, Arroyo was great. He is clearly no #5 starter for next year.

Tito has to thank his lucky stars for not pinch running for Ortiz in the 8th, even though I thought he should have.

Although why Tito didn't bring in Embree to pitch to Erstad in the 7th puzzles me.

Myers looked weak against a righty hitter (no surprise).

Timlin needs rest. He fought fatigue late in the summer and Tito went to the well one too many times.

Foulke was a stud on the mound. He looked very sharp with his change ups.

How ironic that Lowe gets the win in Game 3, the guy who probably should have been the #3 starter if he didn't fall apart in September.

Now the team gets rest, namely the pitchers and the rotation is set.
