There is no way the Sox lose this game. Arroyo is money on the road and despite the fact that this team cannot hit outside of Fenway, all they need to do is give him 3 runs and the game is ours. I think Bronson is going to go a minimum of 7 innings tonight, probably more.

There's a lot of ways the Sox can lose this game.

They lost a game with Schilling going against Borkowski...they can lose this game...easily.

That being said...They can also win this game, and I believe they will.

I find myself confused (happens pretty frequently, actually...).

Anyway, can someone explain who Gutierrez is? He appears to be playing SS for the Sox tonight. Did Nomar change his last name?

Seriously, it seems like Nomar has been sitting out quite often recently. I would have understood that 2 months ago when Nomar was batting about .008, but isn't he around .320 right now? Is he semi-injured and I haven't heard about it?

Signed,

Confused in Michigan

Nomie's ankle hurts again. We got Gutierrez from the Cubs for a quarter. He used to be good, but he's old and terrible now. And he just GIDP with the bases juiced as we speak.

2 double plays now.

I don't really get to watch the games, but the impression I get is that Arroyo is a big stud recently. True? If so, is this a hot streak or the real deal?

And while I'm posting and seeking the benefits of your grand wisdom, let me ask what you mean by "Nomie's ankle hurts". Little twinge? Bad sprain? Virtual dismemberment?

The way Nomar described his ancle, it was a "it's still sore, and it's gunna be like this the whole season" kinda thing. Nothing to be too alarmed over at this point.

I just hope Gutierrez doesn't start at short every time Nomar needs a day off!

The good news is that Bronson is pitching awesome tonight...

The bad news is so did Kevin Brown (for the Yankmees)

He has like a 2.50 ERA on the road this year. He's going to be a very solid member of this rotation for a long time if he can figure out how to pitch at Fenway. This is exactly why we need a new ballpark.

By the way, what a friggin' throw by Kapler. He's the man.

Shut up! I called Arroyo WAY before you. I wish I could get to my netsports PM to you in May when you were touting Kim over Arroyo.

Good for Arroyo - again. Hey Zen, as a gesture to me, could you post that PM with your response??? <_>

Who invited you to this site to begin with????? Dammit, I'm mad (though it's personal and has nothing to do with Zen or baseball....... )

Let me just say women suck and I hope the sox beat the motherlovingshit outa the Twins tomorrow.

(sorry Zen)

I delete all my PM's, you gotta do it to make space. I will give you props, although I can explain my logic. By the way, thanks for the invite here. You did get a raw deal with Bill on the banning issue. If you want me to speak on your behalf to get you back, just let me know.

As far as the Kim/Arroyo thing, here was my reasoning. Now, put on your early season caps on and think back in time. We had a 25 year-old stud with a proven track record as a starter, filthy stuff and a shiny new contract. Of course we should use him over the kid who was 2 years older and had all of 3 IP for the Sox in '03. Sure, he was the International League Pitcher of the Year, but the IL ain't MLB.

Arroyo and Kim both proved me wrong. Kim was hurt all season and Arroyo bulked up, but remained flexible, to build velocity while maintaining mechanics. He also worked a lot with Wallace to improve himself. He's proven to be our best starter on the road.

So, RSR, you were right and I was wrong. :D

Thanks, but I'm ok with the banning. And you had your points (good one's too) way back when nobody knew about Kim being lame.

A question, though. How did you know it was Bill who banned me? Just curious.

BTW, I'm back at Netsports... Just too annoyed by it to post too much there. I really enjoy this site much more (it brings out a less evil side of me ;) )

Thurmon Munson's death comment. Huge Yankee fan who remembers vividly the day it happened. I connected the dots. I should be a cop.
