Millar and McCarty are both pretty bad in LF, and McCarty is much better than Millar at 1b, so you come to the logical conclusion that it sould be Millar and LF and McCarty at 1B. And once again, Crespo is on this team because he plays multiple positions and he was playing infield so you don't have to burn Nomar and give him the last 2 innings a a blowout game off. And why are we even having this conversation? It was 11-0 so who cares what the defensive positioning is?

Anyways, great moral win for the team and for Derek. Ortiz and Pokey seemed to really shine today, along with Trot. Let's sweep San Fran!

Oh my god am I relieved to wake up and see that Lowe pitched 7 scoreless - Wow. He better knock it off... or I may start expecting these kinds of outings every time. :D

San Fran is going to be an interesting series.

yea, i would like to see petey become the first pitcher ever to pitch to bonds, and K him

Clemens already did that earlier this season.

Randy Johnson didn't back down either. Although he didn't strike him out, he hit him in the chest with a 96 mph fastball.

I don't know about Pedro, but I'm scared to death of Bonds. He can't let him ruin this nice little run. He needs to find a way to get him out.

Anyone remember the Bonds/Gagne match up in April? Bonds hooked a 100 mph fastball just foul into McCovey's cove and on the next pitch he smashed one at 101 mph straight to dead center. :o

Sox had a much needed explosion today, and derek lowe was excellent today, two great starts for him :)

This was certainly an improvement! Lowe has looked like his old (2002?) self in his last two games. And Trot and Nomar seem to be getting into mid-season form already. Hopefully this will give them a little boost of confidence heading into San Fran.
