  1. Sorry to self promote like this, but I created a Yahoo! custom league and need people desperately. The draft is tomorrow (3/20) so I know it's really short notice, but if you can join, I'd quite appreciate it. It's H2H with 25 roster spots to fill. Draft: Monday 3/20 @ 1:00pm League ID #259609 Password: boston Thanks.
  2. Uhhh beacause we have all the ghosts on our side now. Why else would we dominate? Jeez think man. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE GHOSTS!!
  3. Why's that? Millar just came off of 2 stellar seasons on a World Series winning team, why in the hell would he think that he would be happy on the bench. You don't think Derek Jeter would be a little pissed if the Yankees signed Renteria and forced Jeter to the bench? Now I'm no Kevin Millar apoligist but I have to give credit where credit is due. When I think of Millar I see a guy who has really helped our team these past two years and shows no signs of letting up after a great 2nd half last year. I love Minky too, but he makes us way too left-handed in a division with Randy Johnson, BJ Ryan, Steve Kline, and Ted Lilly. I wouldn't really be bummed out if we traded Millar rather than Minky, but I wouldn't think it to be the right decision.
  4. I'll be going to the games in Ft. Lauderdale, Jupiter, and Vero. Spring Training games are awesome. If you get the chance, pack your sunscreen and get down here in March.
  5. My and my dad put together this little movie about the 2004 postseasons today. Click on "download" by "Faith Rewarded". The movie's about 5 minutes and it takes about 5 minutes to download too. It won't work if you don't have Quicktime, so make sure you have it. The picture quality isn't great but it was the best we could do. So if you have 10 minutes and Quicktime, watch it. EDIT-Once you download it, you have to open it from the quicktime player, because the quicktime player won't open if you just try to click the desktop icon of the file.
  6. NYYfans.com is really the only Yankee site I go to. It gets me pretty pissed off sometimes though becaus of some of their opinions.
  7. Woo hoo another south Floridian Sox fan!!
  8. I despise Derek Lowe. If it weren't for him and his sackless self, we might be division champs. If he had pitched anywhere near to the quality of '02 or '03 I wouldn't be saying this but he f***ing sucks. Grow some balls my friend and stop with the stupid 'Oh here we go again!' face you always make after giving up another homerun.
  9. We are rooting for the Twins here. With the division still within reach, you still gotta play for the AL East crown. If the Yankees sweep we'll probably end up playing the A's or Angels, but it would be with us with the home field advantage. Remember guys, homefield advantage is huge for us considering our home-road splits. BTW a Yankees sweep wouldn't be terrible either cuz then they'd play the Twins most likely. It's really a win-lose-win situation here.
  10. Like I said before, you do not carry 11 pitchers and leave Kapler off the roster. If you wanna carry 11 pitchers, you should leave Youks off, but not Kapler.
  11. I was there last night so just a few thoughts on last night's game: 80% of the fans were Sox fans. It was unbelievable. Damon looked up into the stands after his homerun and seemed to be in shock of all the Sox fans. Aldo, Damon's Disciples were in leftfield I believe. Giant "Yankees Suck" chant started after the game in the tunnel on the way out of the stadium. It felt like Fenway, except in a dome. After the game on the field, Cabrera and Reese did the usual point up the sky and then hugged at 2B. Schilling and Pedro hugged right in front of a camera near a dugout which was pretty funny (obviously staged because of the Schill's radio comments). I got Theo's autograph before the game right by the dugout and had like a 30 second conversation with Papa Jackson after the game. All and all it was a blast and great seats by the dugout only cost 50 bucks each,
  12. Simply put, you'd be stupid to leave Gabe Kapler off the playoff roster. Trot is not going to start against tough lefties (Johan Santana) so the lefty bashing Kapler easily will get the start. Not to mention that he's our best defensive outfielder who will replace Trot late in the game and has pinch running abilities. You also do not carry 11 pitchers in an American League short series. The roster will go like this IMHO. C Varitek,Mirabelli IF Millar, Mientiewicz, Reese, Bellhorn, Cabrera, Mueller, Youkilis OF Ramirez, Damon, Nixon, Roberts, Kapler DH Ortiz SP Martinez, Schilling, Arroyo, Wakefield RP Foulke, Timlin, Embree, Leskanic, Myers, Lowe
  13. Jupiter, Florida
  14. Last night was a disaster, but I have confidence in Curt to get it done. A split of Anaheim isn't bad on the road.
  15. Another ridiculous game. The talent's all there but they're pissing it all away with inconsistency. It's painful to watch.
  16. But hey, at least we'll improve when Nomar, Trot, and Mueller return, right?
  17. I know it seems tempting dude, but you'll regret it.
  18. Intangibles...Intangibles...Intangibles
  19. f*** 'em all. These are not your 2003 Boston Red Sox. They are the biggest underachievers I have ever seen. They have soooooo much talent, and yet they are 6.5 behind the Yankees and are playing with the likes of the Twins, White Sox, and A's. God I hope they prove me wrong, but I can't see this team winning a World Series this. it sucks, I know. Like I said, I hope they prove me wrong.
  20. OK, biggest series of the year so far. Granted, it's only June (sson to be July) but in my heart, it feels like a playoff atmosphere. I wanna sweep those bastards so badly. I wanna crush them into oblivion, and that all starts with Derek Lowe tonight. I believe he is the key to this series. If he shuts them down in the first game and we win, I think we'll sweep the series. Let's win, damnit!
  21. I don't think it'll happen because I just can't seeing the Mets falling out of the race in that weak division, but if the opportunity arose, I'd be ecstatic if we got Glavine. The only pitchers I want are Glavine, Johnson, Moyer, Leiter, and Armas. Granted, the only one that seems to be likely is Armas, which would only happen probably nearer to the deadline.
  22. Just making a correction that it was Jeremy Reed who was the top prospect, not Jeremy West. Jeremy West is the 1st baseman for the Sarasota Red Sox.
  23. Stupid Fox won't be broadcasting the game here so I'm stuck with listening to it on MLB.com. Should be a good matchup and I hope to see....errrrr hear that Arroyo will get back on track. Nomar went 6-6 in last year's game vs. Wolf. I'd like to see the same in this one. Hopefully a sleeping giant awoke last night and will stay awake to rattle the Phillies, Yankees, Braves, and A's. I'm looking forward to this game.
  24. Jesus Christ, you'd think Jason Schmidt was pitching today.
  25. More good news: 4-0 Yankees.
