i think we are even better than last year. we actually have a running back for a change but i would still like to see faulk in 3rd down situations. i would also like to see more of bethel johnson and david givens. this is probably the deepest team at the WR slot with Brown, Branch, Patten, Givens, Johnson, (anyone im forgetting???). with that i doubt we will see little of 5th round pick PK Sam of florida st. also i would expect to see christian faurias role reduced even more because of the picking of ben watson. but in the redzone look for 3 TE sets with seymour or kleco at full back. this is shaping up to be a season the remember.

ok we need to make this thread live again as the pre-season has begun.

not to be biased, but i wouldnt be surprised at ALL if this team went 16-0, and won the superbowl. we dont have as hard of a schedule as last year, and we can beat the colts and chiefs when we play them. i think we should also have an "individual game thread" for when the pats are on in this section of the forum. it will be cool.

i did, i just think fauria should be in there more than u said. graham can make the hard catches but drops the easy ones, and i dont think watson is ready yet. after this year we could use another WR, i dont think our WRs are THAT deep. but we do have the better set.

graham has been doing 100% better in the catching department, as he isnt dropping anywhere near as many passes. watson wont play much anyways. we have the deepest WR core in the league. brown and branch are proved, and will have good seasons. patten is a decent reciever. johnson and givens are sort of specialists in the sense that johnson gets the deep balls, and givens is more of a goal line type reciever with his size.

Cool story I thought I'd share with you all -

For those of you who live near the Chestnut Hill area, there's a small Japanese restaurant called Oishi. It's TINY, 10 seats at the sushi bar, and 1 table for 4. They get all their business through take-out orders. But anyway. I go there with my mom, as we both were having a sushi craving. We go to write our name down on the waitlist, and we see right above our name is "Tedy - 2." I only know of one Tedy who spells their name like that...and when we looked around we saw Tedy Bruschi and his wife Heidi sitting on a bench. That was pretty cool. But the story isn't over yet. There were no seats anywhere, except for the table of four that happened to open up. The waitress (who had no idea who Tedy was) asked if the Lisa party (my mom) wouldn't mind sharing a table with the Tedy party. Long story short (too late), we ended up eating sushi with Tedy and Heidi for an hour and a half.

Tedy told me a few things -

He's never seen Tom Brady throw so well.

Vinatieri hadn't missed a FG in two weeks of training camp.

Cory Dillon is too fast.

Don't be surprised to see the Pats threepeat.

They're gonna go 15-1 this year.

awesome, that is so damn cool.

of the stuff he told you...

1) True, hes been awesome.

2) Gonna be nasty, and better than ever

3) Not so much fast as powerful

4) It wouldnt technically be a threepeat, but 3 in 4 years in always good

People predicting the pats to go 16-0 this year are just setting them up for dissapointment I think. Let's just see what happens.

im going to predict 14-2. we will lose to the seahawks, and someone else. ravens maybe?

goddamn it...i have tickets to the seahawks game ;) . anyway, i dont think 16-0 is out of the question at all. the colts and chiefs dont worry me, if we lose to the ravens then we dont deserve to be in the playoffs, and the seahawks...hasselbeck is gunna have to do a hell of a lot to put up those numbers again.

we dont make teams beat us with their offense, we shut them down.

we make them beat us with their defense.

You are exactly right about the ravens. I agree with all you on the Red Sox but the Patriots is a different story. If the ravens stay healthy and their defense plays to potential they are gonna win it all again. You know that one saying.....Defense wins championships, well the ravens have the number 1 defense so, watch out.

yea but ray lewis is on the cover of madden  . anyway, seriously, i dont think they can shut us down more than we can shut them down. when you compare our offenses..we would kill them everytime, except in the RB department...which we both have good RBs but id take jamal over corey IMO. bill belichick is defensive specially. we have one of the best D's in the league...too.

ray lewis cant fall to the curse he is too dominant. He is the best LB in history. A couple of things wrong with your thing schilling

1). The Ravens defense is much better than the patriots in the linebacker position, the Cornerback positions, and the safety positions.

2). The Ravens offense is much improved with the additions of Kevin johnson and the healthy and a little more experienced Kyle Boller.

Just watch and see how good the ravens do this year

yes yes i know...but our defense is better than their offense

it all plays out.

regardless of the outcome...the ravens game is going to be a great game.

and whoever predicts the pats lose to the seahawks...u better be wrong..i have tix to that game.

look for me...ill be row 2 behind the FG....the side without the lighthouse...ill wear a dillon jersey...and be going crazy...look for me again and tell me if u saw me on tv..fun fun

Watch out for those pesky New York Jets . I can't wait until the Jets get the chance to knock off those Mighty Pats.

I have two words for you......DREAM ON!! :harhar:

the jets have faced NO ONE of any competitive quality. the bengals are not that good of a team. yes they beat us 31-3, but that was pre season and we dont play our starters. second, they played the chargers. and that was a high scoring game. and today? the jets play miami, yet again not a good team. the pats have beaten the colts in impressive fashion and have beaten the cardinals, and won big time, and didnt let a bad team score 28 points.
