Yanks just regained the lead, 7-6

Michael Holley was right when he said that the division will be decided by how well the Sox and Yanks do against everyone else and not against each other. Case in point...Monday, the Orioles kill us, then drop three straight to the Yankees.

Meanwhile, our starting pitching has gone to the dogs, and now tonight we are being Gobbled up.

Hey, welcome, glad that you decided to join. :D

bobgeorge - welcome to the board.

Mirabelli seems to hit a lot of HR's for someone who only plays once every 5 days.

And speaking of HRs...the yankees have hit 6 tonight. Bleh.

Mirabelli has 4 hr's in 16 games, a hr in every 4 games, or a hr every 2 weeks (just about). If he played more, he'd certainly hit them at a slower pace. All that rest has to result in something.

Oh well.

I don't really know what went wrong in the game today...I mean the Sox only used two pitchers, KC used 5, they gave up two runs, we gave up 5. If we can pull anything positive from this game, it's that Mirabelli homered, and Anastacio Martinez did well again. The bad news - we're 3.5 back from the MFY.

If this is the year that we shake our interleague jitters, we're still in good shape with Trot and Nomar coming back soon. A slight bright spot for the interleague play is that our natural rivals (the Braves) are missing alot of weapons this year, so we can smack them around a bit. So says I, who shall be at the July 4 game. :)

Not enough said yet

It's early June, and Nomar comes back next week. The sky is not falling. We are not just playing for the Wild Card yet. I know you're thinking it, but we're not.

NOW enough has been said.

I definitely think the month of June will be the test though it has started rather sh*tty. We need to play strong in interleague play for a change, and carry that through the second half of June where MIN and NYY await. Pretty rough schedule by the looks of it.
