  1. Yup, been waiting for the Holobetz debut. Should be a hoot nanny
  2. Bennett and Tolle will both hit a wall. There’s a month and a half left in the regular season, nevermind playoff innings. Crochet will most likely be a bullpen arm and not stretched out to be a starter in October. Sandoval has been out two years so durability and stamina are LEGIT concerns. So it’s Gray, Suarez (who’s not looked good since returning from the IL), Sandoval, and the wildcard Brayan Bello. Can Bello start again and have success?.. Is this what this team was going to rely on going into the playoffs? a lot of people wanted and said we needed another starter like we did in 2013 with Jake Peavy. Not a top guy, but a good solid starter that can handle the workload and take some innings from the others down the stretch. we’re going to have to hope the offense, with the additions of Adley Rucshman and a returning Roman Anthony, can carry us on some nights. Besides a good bullpen arm, they didn’t address pitching, and personally, I think they will regret it.
  3. Wong is the only guy who has options I believe
  4. We got what we needed. Y’all can ague the price but it was a good deadline. B
  5. That was my main concern with this deal. The huge possibility of a long lockout next year makes him a ridiculously overpaid 3 month rental if the plan wasnt to resign him right away. So then Anything short of winning a ring this year, this trade will be a huge failure. My guess is they must feel that they will re-sign him before the lockout.
  6. If this doesn’t come with an extension, then I don’t think it’s a good trade. He’s been injured the last two years and is currently rehabbing a wrist injury. With a strike here next year very possible and no extension this turns into five prospects for two months of this guy.
  7. They got two catchers apparently. He looks like Tolle brother with the stache
  8. Unless there’s an extension attached to this at some point, Breslow got dog walked. Especially since there’s a likely strike in 2027.
  9. Not entirely excited about this. He’s been hurt for two years and is currently on rehab for a wrist injury. Yay. He hasn’t come close to living up to the hype. I hope we didn’t give up much for him.
  10. Just heard Anthony took some ABs yesterday swinging a bat. So now we wait to see how much, if any, discomfort he has. If he’s good to go by September that will help a ton.
  11. Poor impulse control for sure. Seems like a nice kid though
  12. I’m not big on a catcher either. To me that’s an offseason or early season move. I don’t want to disrupt any of the starters. We can add offense elsewhere. a good starter is the biggest need right now and then a bat with some power. I agree if it’s SS it should be short term because of Arias, unless of course Arias is involved in a trade. I’ll take another bullpen arm if they can. Nothing expensive…Never hurts
  13. I agree. I just would like to see more than just rentals if we’re trading top prospects.
  14. It’s more of a personal reality check I’m having today. I’m sure everyone is aware of this teams situation before this weekends very important trade deadline. So am I and this was what I’ve been thinking about. What I’m referring to is the Sox injury situation for some pretty important players and how to handle this weekend. We have a bunch of holes to fill. Crochet hasn’t thrown yet and even after a 6-8 week timetable, he will need full game rehab starts. That’s brings him into October even if he starts the program next weekend. Anthony hasn’t taken one swing yet. The last I heard was it’ll probably be a few more weeks until that happens, then another few to fully rehab. So he’s likely done for the season since they will not take any chances with him. Tolle/Bennett Ip limits. Bennett will be treated with caution seeing this is his first full year back from TJS. Tolle has a bit longer leash, but still has one. Sandoval is looking better back from a long vacation., I wonder how much is in the tank after two years off. I like what I see from him though. We just got rid of an important starter, Early, who will be returning soon for a now injured Curtis Mead who broke his wrist. He has the better news of the injured players on the IL because it should be a 6-8 week return in time for the playoffs if all goes well. But it’s a wrist so there probably won’t be a lot of power right off, so there’s that. Story had an 8-12 week timetable which puts him at the end of September on the later side or end of August at the earliest. As of this postI doubt he’s much of a factor this year. So those are the major injuries we have going on right now. Do we sell the farm to keep up with the other teams? Can we get away with plugging in Arias and finding another starter and a bullpen arm? Maybe use some prospects for a couple starts? Eyanson? I understand I was caught up in selling the farm for a ring, but we have a bunch of real holes to fill. Reality set in. we would still have the black holes at catcher 2b and LF to fill…that’s still a lot of holes to fill. There’s a bunch of guys on the market that are requiring a hefty price. As always your system could take a major hit. And that’s ok if done right. all I’m saying is that if we sell the farm, we better get guys with years of control in case we don’t win it all this year so it wasn't all for nothing. Ill send as much good mojo Breslows way this weekend…
  15. Kids been raking in AA and he’s still hitting bombs inAAA off ML pitchers. I’d call his azz up and let him rake here. There isn’t a book on him yet. We did it with Bogey and Devers and BOTh worked out brilliantly. i think they like the kid, especially seeing the results of the work they’ve put in with him. I hope he’s not traded unless the name coming back is Witt or DeLaCruz
  16. Due diligence As long as we keep Arias. I wouldn’t give up a ton for him. Couple prospects. We would have a good leadoff guy with a good bat and solid D at SS.
  17. Why did I think he was RH? Ok, this kind of changes things for me. how the F did I miss that? A lot of my thought was based on him being a RHB. I must have looked at the wrong one. Throw/bat.
