We just made Dustin May look good…….. Stop watching the first pitch go right down the middle. Masa great F**king AB with runner on 3rd.     Yeah I’m at a loss. Suarez sucks, Bello sucks, story sucks, Durbin sucks bullpen isn’t great. This team is weird just can’t put my finger on it but everything looks so hard.

    Story AB’s are not even close right now, he looks so out of place right now…. Our lineup 5-9 is in the bottom 3rd of MLB and with Story mucking up 1-4 it’s making the top of lineup equally atrocious. We should see if Minnesota will trade B Buxton for Cede Rafaela.

    Someone should ask beta Breslow how he feels about being tied for last in league in runs scored while losing multiple games giving up 3 runs or less? What a joke. Not to mention it’s not fun to watch when team gets down by 2 runs in the 3rd and it feel insurmountable.

    The thing about having an explosive offense is it puts pressure on the pitcher. I agree you needed your keep the 3 LHH Ofers, otherwise you werent just net positive lineup. Opposing pitchers can try and paint those corners, or get guys to chase….. because a walk vs this lineup never hurts you when we strike out 12-14x a game. McCullers in the game the other day looked as relaxed as a backfield 3 inning sim game vs our lineup. And it’s not fun to watch, pitching and defense junkies have to agree when Correa hit that 3 run home run you KNEW the game was over.

    Conversation might be easier after the way the story has started the season. The tougher but more important conversation for tomorrow is with Durbin. It needs to go like this….. “Hey man on my way to ballpark today I had a self talk conversation, and it was Should I have Sonny Gray hit tomorrow? And have Durbin the guy I get a DH for?”

    Suarez=30m contreras= 18m gray=21m iKF=6m ——————- For 75m a non Beta Breslow could have resigned Bregman + Pete Alonso for that. Traded Bello+ Campbell+ Harrison+ jhostynixon for Alcantara + E Cabrera AKA SP2/SP3. good hell Craig it’s not that hard.

    Very happy for Early, I’m excited for him definitely has earned it. Tolle has looked really good as well. I wonder what we are gonna do with Kutter and Sandoval? I can’t remember Red Sox ever having a opposite of dearth of 9 Quality SPers like this….. Truly unprecedented times. Calling my shot! Of course UtahSox law of Chaos states clearly “Now that the Red Sox have fully prepared for injury chaos, there will be the healthiest 1st half of MLB season in years for SPers. Ergo thus creating internal chaos for starts/ innings by 9 really good pitchers”

    Trade him…… Maybe for someone with less upside, but proven to stay on the field. Or a team looking to upgrade young talent for proven talent. Bryce Turang, CJ Abrams, Ezequiel Tovar, Masyn Winn, or Ketel Marte to name a few.

    They tried to lock Casas up to, eventually he balked at the #, and now aren’t we so glad he isn’t making 12m a year?

    Odds of everything aligning perfectly for 1 extra year are not worth the risk. Especially when you could win 1-2 World Series while Rafaela, Anthony, Bello, and KC are on micro deals + adding Ranger Suarez and Bregman and maybe trade Bello and KC for Sandy Alcantara. That’s how you win World Series.

    Yeah also made KC way less trade able and it’s nullifying the benefit of hitting on young players. If I were the Rays I’d do this not the Red Sox. Unless you’re trying to fake like you’re spending 263m when you’re really only spending 195m.

    Still do. And arguing that “you win some you lose some” on KC is ridiculous there was no reason to do it. Even Roman might have come a little too early. This is an AAV strapped team. Ergo anytime we hit on a young player and immediately pay them to obtain 1 or 2 extra years of control is the epitome of stupidity. Who knows who we could have signed if Bello, Rafaela, Anthony and Campbell were still on arb contracts. It’s a great way to fake spend cash now when Sam Kennedy steps up to a microphone twice a year.
