  1. change or get left behind. I have to figure out how to integrate AI into my pharmaceutical consulting company and im not particularly thrilled about it , but evolve or die
  2. complaining about baseball players being moved around is like complaining about nba teams shooting more 3s. modernize.
  3. im not a "your draft position" immediately becomes irrelevant or your "prospect status immediately becomes irrelevant" type of guy ,but I get the argument. I just lean towards once high draft picks/top prospects , even if they havent lived up to it by the time they are say, 25 years old (ish) - I still believe that in many cases the former top prospects/draft picks have a higher than most chance of regaining / breaking out. Lot of those stories. Dude is expected to be a stud but struggles getting to the show and is close to being deemed a bust, but then figures it out, just took a little extra time.
  4. for mackenzie gore? yes, because i care a lot about pedigree and gore was drafted 3 overall.
  5. Im fine getting one of schwarber / alonso and letting yoshida vs casas fight it out for other 1b/dh spot. ANd i dont care if they play if yoshida at first because they sign schwarber over alonso. My money is on masa beating casas. Not because of the money involved but because i think hes a better ballplayer.
  6. Could, sure. The chance that story would make it through this last season wasnt particularly high and he did.
  7. Bregman was hired to play 2b, its just that raffys shoulder didnt heal enough over break and wasnt ready to start the season in a position where hed have to throw.
  8. Maybe build up some trade value.
  9. IF we're being honest, there is a sizeable gap between Schwarbers bat and alonsos. I dont care as much as some about defensive fit.
  10. I have no problem with it. If anything, Schwarber having a DH title attached to him may keep his price reasonable. Would rather target somebody whose price is dampened from being a DH only then being hurt like Sandoval, paxton
  11. Hes become very good devensively at first base, just throwing that out there. NOt saying that it would necessarily stop them.
  12. I dont want Bubic and I dont want singer
  13. Im not really loving any of these pitchers on the trade front, now that the better ones e.g. the 2 reds ones that are good but also others, have been pulled back We may have come full circle on ryan. Top target, but then combination of him ending his season not great + sexier names getting mentioned (at least to me) but now , Ryan may be back at pitching target #1
  14. If we hold Duran, and thats no small if right now, then we have Duran / Abreu/ RA / Story and none of which are really 2-3-4 hitters. You can prob get by w some kind of combination of Duran/RA at 1-2 or 1,4 but we still need a masher, at least one. But if you get schwarber, im interested. He allows you to have less HRs at 1b than most teams by picking up slack with his 50 HRs.
  15. Well the first 10 pounds are easier to lose than the next 10 pounds if you catch my drift. He had nowhere to go but up from a k/w perspective so of course it went up. Doesnt mean the trend will continue. You would never ever ever get Greene for him straight up, thats silly to even suggest turning that down.
  16. Injuries and slumps will continue to happen at a pace where you may think that your team is cursed or hit especially hard by the bug, but its just a noticeable increase league wide trading blocked prospects is how you find yourself playing dudes directly off waivers like eaton and lowe or pretty much scrambling im a fan of hoarding, but i also understand that we have finite resources and holes to plug, so sometimes you gotta but its worth noting that campbell/garcia provide plus depth.
  17. There has been about 30% contract inflation since story got 23.3 AAV, so that would put it around 31.5 / aav as equiv. 5 yrs at that amount, puts him in the high 150s. I think he does a bit better, but I think this is in the ballpark. I think the projection is solid 5 yrs at 175-200. I could see a little lower but not much. my prediction is 5 yrs/180.
  18. Hes going to ask for 200 and settle for 170. Maybe 150-170 but hes 2x'ing his g'teed money and its why he opted out. Not sure if its here and not sure on years.
  19. yeah, didnt he like miss an important game because he was busy trying to flip an antique car or something. Dude loves money. Surprised hes not caught up in a gambling ring. Knocks on wood becuse I love manny.
  20. Bruins and celtics are not particularly watchable at the moment, either
  21. I was on the fence on whether or not to submit Reese McGuire
  22. Hes hitting the ball well this postseason for them
