  1. Have we fired the idiot who thought sims and Garcia would be quality trade deadline acquisitions?????
  2. Last year our LHP depth chart was pathetic!!! their choice of help in the bullpen is very scary, but at least they are building up the depth
  3. If ownership was serious about competing, we should have beaten the Yankees out for fried!!!!!
  4. Assuming yoshida starts the year on the DL! then devers with the bad shoulders could start the year as the DH! so our infield defense to start the year is casas at 1st. Hamilton/Gonzalez at 2nd, story at SS, and Bergman (if we sign him) at 3rd! Only 1st base is a dumpster fire defensively! about 30 games into the season, story breaks down faster and more thoroughly than a 1978 ford pinto and goes on season ending DL, and devers announces he is healthy to play the field! Our new infield defense is casas at 1st base, Bergman (if he signs) at 2nd base, Hamilton/gonzalez/rafeala at SS and devers at 3rd base!!! Only 2nd base could potentially not be a total dumpster fire defensively!!!!!!? This is why Campbell and Mayer need to be ready quickly in 2025!
  5. But the last two years have shown that we need depth in the bullpen over the course of the 162 game season
  6. Kind of strange that we would weaken our bullpen depth, which is not very deep, to add a pitcher that likely will not contribute until 2026?
  7. Good signing for Houston.
  8. Is bres-slow secretly playing Seattle and Pittsburgh against each other to try and pry the best young starting pitcher he can away from them??? I think a lot of people here are too quick to discount the young trade talent that we have to offer in trades.
  9. And why are we interested in Castillo??? He does not fit our profile at all
  10. I like the Sandoval signing! It sounds like we overpaid because somebody else was bidding against us!! look at the bright side, bres-slow finally won a bidding war!!!!!!!
  11. Isn’t there a deferral part of arenado’s contract that whoever gets stuck with him at the expiration of the contract has to pay????
  12. Have you ever worked on the street??? The thrill of the kill is what these guys live for!!!!?
  13. Yoshida and a bag of cash for Montgomery. 1.) Montgomery gets a year to prove it. 2.) we get a year to sharpen up dobbins!!!!! 3.) Arizona gets nothing, but the owner is free of Montgomery
  14. Whatever it takes, he would do it.
  15. Baltimore with O’Neil and sugano! Kind of different for them
  16. Cohen is a Mets zealot! We are not outbidding him
  17. The deep end of the pool has huge players in it! You are not going to outspend them! We did an amazing job of helping run up the price tag this year! No shame on being outspent by cohen!!!! at Cristie’s auction house a few years ago, cohen outspent everybody for a copy of “the scream” by munck! The guys he beat for that painting were probably pissed, but I doubt they belly ached about it forever! we tried hard this year, but the deeper pockets will always win!
  18. As of December 15th our lineup is better than 2024 because: 1.) crochet is better than pivetta! 2.) story and casas should be healthy. 3.) Valdez is gone. 4.) the Yankee catcher or gaspar should be better than McGuire or Jansen As of December 15th our lineup is worse than 2024 because: 1.) the bullpen is a mess. Did I miss anything significant?
  19. Outbidding the Mets, Yankees and dodgers is near impossible! In addition to that, desperate Dave decimated the baseball analytics department I do not blame ownership for experimenting with different methods of team building!!!
  20. I agree! Projecting the 13 pitchers is impossible even after training camp starts!!! to me the theme the last two years has been. Poor starting starting burns out the bullpen by July every year!! The goal for 2025 pitching should be 1.) improve the top of the rotation. 2.) build a deeper bullpen or more arms that can go multiple innings!!!
  21. I think Montgomery is a top 25 prospect by the end of the year, but there is some swing and miss to his game! and although he is listed as a switch hitter, he is definitely much better from the left side and we already have a few good lefty bats in the lineup the defense is also above average now and can only get better! I suspect he will be in Chicago in two years, maybe less!!!!Chicago was right to target him!
  22. I think it would take a monster spring training for Anthony to start the year with Boston. So for now I have him starting the year in Worcester! I see our opening day outfield as Duran-rafeala-abreau. With refsynder as the 4th outfielder! I think abreau makes a year two improvement offensively while decreasing strike outs a bit! Defensively he remains above average I think rafeala makes a year two improvement offensively and cuts down on his strike outs a bit while playing above average defensive. But rafeala’s offensive trajectory is tied to the health of story and how much time he spends bouncing around the infield! duran has to have some regression in his offensive numbers, but should still be above average offensively and average defensively I think we have one of the best young outfields in baseball and with Anthony on the doorstep, we have tremendous quality depth as well
  23. I thought you were done with injury prone pitchers
  24. There are 2 veteran catchers who are known for their defense, but have no bat available
