This is important!!! We are still very much in the conversation for a wildcard. Remember, we have starters coming back and then we can move some guys to the bullpen and send down the mediocre guys. (Wink, Kelly, etc) the offense on the other hand needs work. Devers. Casas, rafeala, Duran and Hamilton are not getting it done!!! Sadly defense is still a huge issue as well!!!!! It is amazing that bres-slow is not an alcoholic by now.

You were ahead of the curve in the Duran call!!! One of the hardest things a GM has to do is try and determine if a player is a one season wonder or multi year star! I hope Duran can rebuild his status quickly, but he looks so lost at the plate!!!!

I watched early pitch a few innings and it looks like the velocity is up a tiny bit over last year!!! The stuff is ok! Nothing that grabs your attention though!!!! we appear to have an unending supply of mediocre 22-24 year olds starting pitchers at Salem!!! Except for Clarke, none of them have great stuff. And Clarke struggles mightily with command and control.

Garcia is really hitting the ball well so far!!! Wow!!!! Great at bats today

One benefit of Anthony staying in triple A, he is seeing a good bit of left handed pitching

I have no problem trading Duran and putting Anthony in left field!!! the question is who would want Duran???

Jack Anderson serving up batting practice today in Worcester!!!

Wink is definitely dressed in his Star Trek original series, red security shirt and already in the transported down to the planet. Just waiting for the deed!!!!!!

I think Cora said Wong is back in 3 weeks

Rafeala contributed a little offense tonight

A bucket of used baseballs!!!! And I was just joking!!! But bres-slow should kick the tires on everything just as a matter of good business practice

Bres-slow said they are working to get Casas to heat up

Worcester offense exploded today. Grissom with 4 doubles

    Did we cut fulmer?

Andrew wright of Newsweek floated a Devers to the cubs trade idea!!! Seems like Matt Shaw got sent to the minors. Maybe bres-slow needs to call the cubs asap!!!!! I am thinking Devers and yoshida for a thank card and a bucket of used baseballs!!!

Marvin alcanterra has been a singles machine! I got to watch toro in game 2 of the double header yesterday. The results look good in the box score, but I cannot figure out how he does it.

I remain hopeful that Justin becomes a great bargain

Will the warmer weather help Casas and Devers ????
  19. Larry Cook
Seems like Mayer caught the same bug that most of the Boston hitters caught. Campbell and Anthony appear to be immune !!!

Old baseball saying: you can never have too much depth!

The next big three for the Red Sox??? 1.) arias. Should be promoted to Greenville next month. 2.) yophary. Could be promoted to Portland by July. 3.) password Garcia. This kid is the definition of “blocked path” to Boston!!! Yet he keeps hitting.
  22. Larry Cook
Worcester has seen a lot of left handed pitchers this season and Mayer is hitting below the Mendoza line currently!!! Anthony has been getting very hot despite having a hurt shoulder!!!! at some point, soon, Anthony is going to be healthy and force the Red Sox front office to promote him. hard decisions need to be made in the coming weeks. Duran, Devers, casas and rafeala please report for Star Trek red security shirt fitting please!!!!!
  23. Larry Cook
My position is Devers swing is not right!!!! To my eyes there is a hitch in the beginning of his swing, that tells me it is a physical thing!!! Maybe it becomes easier for him in warm weather, but why not have the MRI and get all the facts first!
  24. Larry Cook
Apparently the reason Anthony is DHing is because he has a sore shoulder. Boston can not bring him up unless he can play the outfield. We already have a guy with sore shoulders clogging up the DH spot!!!! When do we send Devers to get an MRI???? This is embarrassing
  25. Larry Cook
Salem with 4 hits tonight. Arias with 2, Cespedes and Anderson with 1 each. Garcia with 2 more hits for Portland. Futrell threw the ball ok tonight. The stuff was not sharp or great, but maybe he gets better as he gets more innings
