  1. I thought crochet was amazing today! I do not think he had his best stuff, but he worked through it and gave us seven innings.
  2. Now is the perfect time to call Atlanta and offer them story and a bag of cash for a bucket of used baseballs
  3. Runners on first and second and Duran cannot get a critical hit
  4. Uberstine has impressed me with his pitching this year! His command of the secondaries is getting a bit better. if that trend continues, he could be a bullpen arm depth option for us!!!
  5. Hoppe, all relievers named Adams and troye are struggling at the moment!!! Salem is a pitching desolate wasteland!!!! fort Myers is almost as pitching barren as Salem!!! 9 pitchers (I think) on the minor league disabled list!!!! Lack of lower level developmental pitching depth will catch up to us! This draft is a chance to fix some of the depth problems
  6. Last time I looked, our team was top ten in runs scored. Maybe story, Campbell, rafeala, Wong and most other right handed bats are struggling to hit with runners in scoring position, but that does not mean the offense is dead!!!! tackle the biggest problems first and let’s climb our way out of the hole!!!!
  7. Our single biggest problem is the rotation. At 4 plus innings per start, our bullpen is being over utilized and come August, they will all have dead arms
  8. The single biggest problem this team is starting pitching!! instead of bringing up a talented rookie and rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic, maybe we use some of our roster depth and super deep farm system to acquire a starting and a reliever or two???? Bearadino could throw in 100 games this year at the rate Cora is using him
  9. Could not agree more!!! He just needs a hot streak in the month of June!!!!
  10. Not sure why encarnacion is still in Salem. He is 20 years old and been hitting well all year. Already up to 10 taters before June 1st!!! arias went 3 for 8 in the double header and it brought his average down!!!! I hope he gets a month in Portland at the end of this summer
  11. Clarke and Valera are the only two pitchers in our system with electric stuff!! They are a long way from Boston, but they could be special!!!
  12. Why can’t any starters not named crochet go at least 5 innings!!!!
  13. I am not sure Mayer is a major league shortstop, but I am sure he could be a superstar 3rd baseman! arias is by far the best defensive shortstop in our system. (No disrespect to Liendo) I do not know what kind of power arias projects to have, but if he can walk more, then you are looking at a near .400 OBP and great defense at shortstop,
  14. Who would we rather see at short? Rafeala or story????
  15. With tolle there is a story here. He had four strike outs after two innings! His fastball was playing well! Funky delivery that hitters have a hard time picking up. Starting in the third inning, he was throwing more secondary stuff and he struggled a bit and had some trouble with the strike zone. the plan seems to be to get tolle to sharpen up the secondary offerings. And maybe he adds a cutter somewhere down the line
  16. Worcester - Garcia with a tater tonight! Van belle with 7 shut out innings. Portland game 1 - Sandlin with 7 shut out innings. Portland game 2 - Jordan 3 for 4. Coffey with 3 shutout innings! Greenville - arias 4 for 5. Tayler with a tater today. Salem - Gonzales 0 for 2 with two walks.
  17. I think this is 100 percent correct!! It all starts with starting pitching. crochet is a stud and a legitimate number 1. after that, we got a bunch of maybe. Maybe bello learns how to pitch 5 innings!!! Or maybe bello should be a closer!!! Maybe the two rookies continue to pitch like veterans until they hit the innings wall!!!! Maybe beaulher and/or kutter get fully healthy??? Maybe giolita and houck are not a dumpster fires!!!!! it is time to call Pittsburgh and let’s see if we can play let’s make a deal!!! Offense for pitching !!!!!
  18. Arias has had a great year so far, but he is not in double A yet, so it is a bit early for that big a leap!!! Now Garcia went up a few levels last year, but with a high strike out rate and low walk rate, he did generate much interest. This year, he is improving those rates. we got more hitters coming. I think Anderson is close to figuring it out. I think Gonzales could be a superstar. I think encanacion is just starting to figure it out!!!!
  19. Keith law has arias at 8 and Garcia at 46! and of course, Anthony stays at number 1!
  20. Hard for the bullpen when the starters not named crochet average 4 innings a start
  21. I agree 100 percent that Jordan should be in Worcester. Quality depth is really important and necessary in today’s game! However, depth for the sake of depth creates clogs arteries for prospects!!! Time for bres-slow to start working the phones!!! Pittsburgh should be number 1 on his speed dial!!!!!
  22. The lineup in Greenville is overflowing with potential: 1.) arias - rafeala jr. but can be a superstar, 2.) yophary - still figuring it out. But oodles of potential 3.) Taylor - having a decent year. Some power but could develop into something special 4.) Anderson - had a bad year last year. But this year he has figured it out and is putting together good at bats. Star potential!! 5.) zantanello - the light has not come on yet for him. 6.) blies - super athletic but the contact rate is not there yet!!!! But if he can start hitting, star potential
  23. I think if Clarke develops better command and control, he could be starter in Boston in a few years
