    I think we have to examine which rentals can help us win and what they are worth to us. Peralta for example can definitely help us win. Can he help us win enough to secure a playoff spot?? If the answer is yes. Then we have to over pay to get a deal done!

    I think we need to use our roster and prospects to find a high quality starter with years of control to fill the #2 hole in the roster, even if we have to overpay!! we need a quality starter on free agency. (Cease??) and we need to put resources in place to develop our own pitching prospects

    I think the deepest hole on our team is the number two spot in the rotation. I realize most people on this site over value prospects, but we have to give to get!!! I agree, it will take a lot to get and that is why we need to aim for the absolute best arm we can because we have a ton of mlb players and prospects to give. I do not know what teams want for starters, but I have no problem over paying to get a number 2 starter.

    So how many prospects are we willing to part with for a number 2 in the rotation?? I have Mayer and Anthony (and narveaz) as untouchable!! does Pittsburgh agree to Duran, Campbell, arias, tolle, early and Clarke for skenes???

    Tolle has also been pretty good! uberstine is still shaking off the rust, but his stuff is looking sharper!! another guy that is starting to figure it out is erhlicher! He may never be an ace, but he could develop into a contributor or trade piece!! Then there is a true wild card in futrell!!! He has decent stuff and can look good or terrible all in the same outing!!!! we have much better pitching prospects than we have had in a long time!!!
