Those teams (and add the braves in as well) do an incredible job of: First- evaluating potential prospect in terms of how the potential prospect would fit their systems. Second - developing the prospects they acquire, regardless of position. Third - trading off prospects that don’t have a proper path or profile for their major league team. Hang’em Chaim and staff have shown a tremendous scouting eye on contact and power hitters. Our minor league system is fairly deep in those areas. The Sox minor league rebuild is years from being complete, but, I think, well ahead of where I thought we could get in a few short years. -

Isn’t command of the secondary pitches one of the last things to return after Tommy John?

Mata, winkleman and Bello are just about the only pitchers in our minor league system with electric stuff. Some of the others might have one “plus” pitch, but nothing with the wow factor.

Northcut with his 21st tater of the season for Greenville. Mieses with his 6th tater and downs with his 11th tater for Worcester. Paulino with his 5th tater and Kavadas with his 9th tater on the season. Kavadas also with two more walks tonight!

It was also reported that because he could not grip the ball properly, he was just aiming and not throwing.

In Portland, Rafeala with his 3rd Portland tater and 12th overall. Castellaneous with his 8th tater of the season. Groome with 5 innings pitched. Two hits, two walks and zero runs given up. 3 strike outs.

Bello with 5 innings pitched. 1 run given up, 3 hits (one of the hits was a meatball that he served up) 1 walk and 8 strike outs!

If there is one level of minor league baseball that separates the men from the boys, it is double a. By September, we will know a lot more about Rafaela. Ps: anybody think that maybe Hang’em Chaim promoted the kid early to use rafeala as a trade chip that another team might over value?

They tried to sign Betts, but were not willing to swallow that much cheese. So why not move him along and salvage what we could on the deal!

At Worcester, j Davis with two taters, his 3rd and 4th of the season. Duran with his 6th tater of the season! Seabold was magnificent for the 5 innings he pitched tonight. Three hits, no runs, no walks and 6 strike outs.

If they had a Top 100 list for defense, I think he would be on it! Of course, I think he should be on the regular top 100 list now. I also think he is close to passing yorke to be number 3 in Red Sox top 30 list. (Mayer and cassas are still 1 and 2)

It’s not all bad at Portland, Castellaneous is starting to gain ground after a tough start to the season!

This is where Hang’em Chaim needs to earn his pay! We swoop in and trade Bradley, brazier and Robles to Detroit for Rodriguez. Detroit eats the rest of Rodriguez’s salary for 2022, and we eat it all after that. Should get us under the cap for 2022 and relieve the team of some dead weight.
