    My problem with Yorke is that he was rated at least 100 spots below where he was drafted and Bloom likely could have gotten him in the 3rd rd as we didn't have a 2nd rd pick that year. Hey I've already resigned myself to the fact that Bloom will be drafting another HS hitter because that's what pretty much always does. If the guy ends up being a player he likely won't be in Boston til 2027 or maybe late 2026.

    well I am counting this year too because i simply don't see us as better than any of the other AL East teams.

    Well I wanted them to SELL. Right now I am undecided but my gut tells me the right thing to do is to at least partially sell. Even with our recent hot spell BTW--we are stiil in last place.

    no doubt Bloom has done sone good things but this is a results oriented business and the results have not been great. Pretty sure Henry is tying his hands some though.

    We may as well trade Mata as that will rid the system of all the DD pitching prospects as Bloom basically GAVE away Groome, Ward, Song to keep such studs as Ort and Brasier on the roster.

    come on everyone. no need to get so personal. Everyone has their own opinions and that is fine. Duran is not starting today as the A's started a LH. No conspiracy there.

    fair enough but I don't see that as a huge thing given where he was drafted 4 drafts ago.

    What list to you see Yorke as a top 100 prospects? I saw Keith Law's top 100 put out on May 8th with Yorke not on there. I don't pay for BA rankings.

    Nonetheless Mayer WAS ranked #1 before the draft. I realize I am fighting a losing battle on drafting P in the 1st rd but seriously how many 2B, SS, and 3B can we have in our system at one time?? Supposedly Yorke is our future 2B { i am skeptical on that} , Mayer, is our SS and Devers is locked up at 3B with Jordan as insurance. We also drafted at least 1 more SS with a 1st rd pick since Bloom arrived too. The team Bloom came from has made their mark on young top cost controlled SP like we FINALLY have with Bello { thank you DD}.

    Taking Mayer aside { no brainer pick given he was ranked #1} what great draft picks has Bloom made? we all know he hoards prospects so drafting SS and 2B every year in the first rd makes no sense to me but I know this is a losing argument. Name these top pitching prospects Bloom has brought us please.

    Yeah because we should be OK with 3 last place AL East finishes in the 4 years Bloom has been here. I guess that makes us cry baby fans.

    Heaven forbid Bloom could EVER draft the BEST pitching prospect available?? After all we have so many pitching prospects waiting in the wings.

    The minors are full of "good glove-no bat types" Chang is one of many of those. He is a stop gap till Story returns

    to get back on the subject I do not expect the Sox to be sellers at the deadline. they are close enough to think they have a shot at a W/C. I also don't think they will make any big additions but Bloom will pull off a few of his "special type" bargain moves.

    can you enlighten me as to who Smith is please. As for your other point had Bloom NOT signed those guys RSN would have likely revolted. He is simply trying to keep the team competitive until his "plan" comes into effect.

    Because the Sox are GOING NOWHERE and he could go down at anytime. Just last week he had to leave a game early.

    I actually think this would be the best time to TRADE Paxton. His value will likely never be higher than it is now and he might actually bring back something decent. Lots of teams are looking for SP help .

    I just can't understand how people can say Bloom is doing a good job. we are well on our way to our 3rd last place AL East finish in his 4 years here. Other than Mayer who fell into his lap what other blue chip prospects has Bloom acquire?. How many top 100 prospects do we have in our system and besides Mayer which did Bloom acquire? Yes he has added depth to the system but it appears to me to simply be decent not great prospects. He has of course achieved his #1 mandate from John Henry which was to lower the payroll. It has gone from a top 5 payroll to now #11 in MLB. It could actually be even lower had Bloom not spent foolishly on several players.

    Sox are in their usual spot in the basement of the AL East 5 games back of the Blue Jays. If they don't win this series it could be a long 2nd half.

    the team had a very high payroll but were 1 year removed from a WS title with the roster pretty much intact. I am tired of hearing about DD having a high payroll. He was brought in to WIN and he DID. Bloom has torn this team apart and he is running a revolving door of old veterans on short term deals. Here for a good {?} time not a long time.

    I'd rather Bloom focus on developing young homegrown pitching like Tampa does rather than spending big on FA starters 1 pitch away from TJ.
